They're actually doing some renovations right now to their campus center building, which connects to Rose Hill Gym. The little arena itself, sounds like, won't change much, but the project does yield a new strength and conditioning center for the Ram teams.

They've done some cosmetic stuff inside the Gym over the years, which has helped, but at its core it's still an old style venue. Does have a certain charm though, with the stone walls. The Cage was/is similar in size, but doesn't have that same feel.

From "The Gazette":
UMass (13-10, 4-7) has lost its last two games playing shorthanded lineups. The Minutemen will be without point guard Noah Fernandes as his ankle injury is assessed further. He didn’t dress in practice Tuesday.

Rahsool Diggins, who didn’t play in the last game against Davidson, practiced and is trending toward playing but will be a game-time decision. RJ Luis shot in practice but wasn’t cleared for contact while still in concussion protocol after suffering a broken nose at George Mason.

looking at Fordham's stats, if only we could match them on this one: they have 7 players with substantial minutes/game (18-35). 6 of them have played in all 23 of their games. The 7th missed 1 game (Quisenberry missed their VMI game, a 3-point home win vs the last-place team in the Southern Conference with a 1-11 record). Fordham's top 5 are 3 seniors/grad students and 2 juniors. UMass has only 3 who played every game: DD, Kante and Brandon Martin.
I'm surprised Fordham are only 6-point favorites.

This is brutal. Really hope Diggs is able to play and not injure the ankle further.

I'm worried that Noah might be done for the year.

Warren Nolan's site suggest we might only win two more games this season and finish up 15-15. We really need some road wins in conference.

^ You’re kidding, right?

How does the coach’s salary affect whether a player gets hurt?

am I the only one thinking Noah might be worried about losing his NIL deal if he hurts the ankle further and can't play again this year? As this injury has lingered on that is the first thing that crossed my mind - kind of like those football guys that sit out those meaningless bowl games so they don't risk injury and hurt their draft stock.

And before the Collective guy on the board attacks me, I'm in no way saying the Collective told Noah if you hurt this further and can't play you lose your deal - and I'm not singling Noah out here, I'm just wondering if these kids now have it in the back of their minds that if they play hurt and injure themselves worse are they scared of losing out on further NIL opportunities so now they wait until they are 100% ready to go?

Ha, if he played his son 40 minutes maybe people wouldn't be getting hurt!

Not sure why some are finding 1.7 million reasons to hate on FM. Jon Scheyer is making 7.5 million a year and he had no
HC experience until now, while Martin is in a select group that has made a Final 4.

Anyway, I don't see how they win this on the road with all the injuries, but hopefully they compete hard.

totally agree........I didn't know WE were paying for his salary. the UMass payroll is filled with administrators making 100's of thousands for doing nothing. 1000's of them making 300k and up. A top shelf coach in hoops is going to make that kind of dough. what do you want a charlie molnar making 200k?

We'd be more competitive if we can get 15 minutes from Diggins. However, we can't risk him getting more hurt and missing more games.

This article says RJ practiced a little but still not cleared.
