You & I will be 77 then.
Should we reserve ahead in the rocking chair section?

just signed Sawyer Mayhugh - 6'10 from Brewster Academy. Don't know much about him other than Bryant, BU and Siena were other D1 offers.

After starting with a flurry of 4* recruits, the past few Frank has signed, in my mind are unimpressive. But I guess he knows more than I so time will tell

The Frank Martin New England pipeline is real.

Mayhugh fills a need. I agree that he's not a 4* recruit but it looks like he has good hands and shoots well for a big. I also like the Davis kid who will benefit from a year at a good BB prep school. Every video I've seen on Davis shows me that he has has great range and makes good decisions. Here's a clip that has probably been posted before:

No idea what his ceiling is, but looks like he can shoot a bit and has a sturdy frame with a bit more room to grow. Good piece to develop behind the bigs we’ve got (assuming Leveque and Woodley stick around for more than a year.

Plus he’s another local kid so we don’t have to listen to the “why don’t we recruit more MA kids?!?” crap that seems to rear its head a couple of times a year.

I think the 2023 kids all look like they could play roles at the very least and that’s important. I’d like to think a lot of the team is coming back next year and there won’t be a ton of minutes to go around for freshman. We’ll see I guess.

Hoping I’m wrong, but a snooze fest on this class so far.

I know you can't teach height and a 6'10 kid is nice to have, but all the highlights I have seen are of him chucking up 3's...I'm giving Frank and his staff the benefit right now because what he has done so far seems amazing...but just based on the offers this kid had, I'm not impressed at all. I hope I'm 1000% wrong!

There’s value in having bigs that can shoot and open up the floor, no?

People thought Tony Gaffney was just added depth coming from BU but he showed he could play and play well enough to get a shot at the league. Sometimes opportunity and coaching can bring out skills that help a team. I trust Frank likes what he sees

I believe this is his first year at prep school, one that will give him a lot of high-level competition. Suspect that it's a huge step up from what he saw at Weston HS. Hope that by the end of the year we see what the coaching staff has seen in him.

Seems almost like a rule, particularly for A10 teams, that nearly all recruits are 2*, but these schools attract 3* and 4* transfers. I think 11 A10 teams this year have at least 1 transfer rated above 2*. Exceptions are GW, La Salle, Richmond and Bona. The latter 2 have recruits >2* this year. Most A10 teams do NOT have any >2* recruits; exceptions are Fordham, GMU, St. Joe's, VCU and UMass.
This situation doesn't surprise me. A highly regarded recruit may join a P5/P6 school, be disappointed in his first year, and decide transferring into the A10 makes more sense than a lateral transfer. Sure it's a step down, but good chance they're joining an excellent program at a great school; beats limited playing time where they started.

Trust in Coach Martin.

Sounds like a Luke Bonner type?
