Was he hurt last year? He only played in 3 games for a total of 5 minutes.

Looks like a very nice home schedule.
Home: Davidson, Dayton, Loyola, Richmond, Saint Louis, Duquesne, La Salle, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure
Away: Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, Saint Joseph’s, VCU, Duquesne, La Salle, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure
Go UMass!!

Maaaan winning road games in league play is hard but going anything less than 6-2 against that group of home-and-homes would be disappointing. Schedule sets up for a legit chance at a double bye if we are anything close to our ceiling with this group of talent.

I’m very excited.

With only 10 players, we lack depth compared to the top teams in the conference. I hope we remedy this before the season starts, foul trouble and injuries will be a major threat.

Seemingly got a favorable schedule for getting wins, especially if the Bonnies take a major step back.

Nice home slate too. Hoping to see the URI rivalry take a jump this year in intensity.

Home slate from an attendance perspective is excellent, but we have seriously tough teams coming in. Winning on road is always hard.

my wishes for the schedule would be only 1 game vs the 3 expected to be top teams (SLU, Dayton, VCU are all in Rothstein's top 45 for 2022-23): no road games at the toughest venues (VCU, Olean, Dayton), and 2 games vs. each of the weaker teams (but only La Salle looks weak, maybe GW but hard to tell). Would also like to get our first vs Loyola in Amherst. The schedule matches most of these wishes, and another effect is an attractive home schedule. Good!

Gives Frank some leeway to schedule fairly light and regional OOC. We have top A10 teams coming g here in conference.

A10 preview from Jon Rothstein:
https://collegehoopstoday.com/index.php ... eakdown-3/

His UMass starting 5:
G Noah Fernandes
G Rahsool Diggins
G T.J. Weeks
F Matt Cross
C Wildens Leveque

projected finish for UMass: 8th place

Notable: UMass has fewer players than any of the other 14 teams

are we closer to New Year's Day 2023 than 2022? perhaps a day or 2 short, but almost time to change this thread's title to 2022-23

Seems reasonable. UMass might move up if the 3 remaining slots are filled with decent players.
Rothstein also has kind words for the LIU admin.
