Interesting that Sage states that Greg Jones will be in the top 8 of the rotation, and his wording makes it sound like that's based on some inside info. I had him pegged for bench depth, break glass in case of emergency or foul trouble meat and potatoes under the rim, not a top 8 rotation guy.

Really hoping it comes together for the program, coach, and the sanity of some (most?) here. There's certainly some potential.

I heard from a person who has intimate knowledge of the team that the 3 new guys who have stood out so far are Jones, Buttrick and Rich Kelly. Len's comment above about CJ is interesting. Is the rating based on metrics or on observation? Maybe CJ is making a late push? My info is a few weeks old.Juice Stand wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 3:56 pm Interesting that Sage states that Greg Jones will be in the top 8 of the rotation, and his wording makes it sound like that's based on some inside info. Here's a very brief A10 look with eye to wagering, leaning to betting the over for UMass.

Seems games will often be about the 3s, which probably means 3 percentages. Perhaps that helps explain KenPom's optimistic view for the Minutemen: he has them winning a LOT at home where perhaps the 3% comes in higher.

Amazing work! No need to play the season. The author has been hired by the Bonnies.Juice Stand wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 3:24 pm A10 season preview: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/re ... #pageNum=1

Good interview. It sounds like Matt has some improved insight. He sounded more relaxed and genuine than I've heard him. I'm looking for 20+ wins and an NIT appearance.Juice Stand wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 4:01 pm More content: Plant the Flag podcast with Jay Burnham and coach McCall https://umassathletics.com/sports/2018/ ... dcast.aspx

Jon Rothstein
@JonRothstein

Saint Louis' Javonte Perkins will be evaluated this afternoon after suffering a knee injury in last night's exhibition game, per a school spokesman. Averaged 17.1 PPG last season. One of the best players in the Atlantic 10.
This would be a big loss for SLU. He's preseason first team A10 and he scored 41 in their 2 games against us last year.

Just the numbers from the a10 preview. They have some metric for ranking all players based on prior performance.69MG wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 5:50 pm I heard from a person who has intimate knowledge of the team that the 3 new guys who have stood out so far are Jones, Buttrick and Rich Kelly. Re: 2021-2022 Season
This team has talent, now if MM can channel the coaching job he did in his first year here it could be an exciting year.
