Yes the top of the A10 is better than the top of the AAC but how many times in the last oh say 20 years have we been in the top 3 or 4 of the A10?? I did read that there may have been some talk about a AAC/CUSA realignment. AAC takes all the eastern teams and CUSA the west. If that happens and the AAC wants us... go

That's why I said if the AAC and CUSA trade teams to make the AAC an eastern conference.

UMass should be #1 on Big East list. But i could see Dayton and Saint Louis added as well to make it 14.

C'Mon Maz, just stop....

Why exactly? What does UMass bring to the table to enhance that conference? Be specific [and academic performance is 0.0% reason to add any school to an athletic conference, otherwise Harvard and Yale would be in the ACC......]

UMass is nothing more than a last resort for any conference. Years of poor performance in the big ticket sports, and no sign of improvement.

Looks like AAC is looking to add conference USA teams to get back up to 14 members.

I’d love to be back in a conference with Temple. Also UConn would be an awesome regional rivalry. Add URI to the mix and those are really the best rivalries I can imagine. But looks like we are an afterthought as usual.

I was a yes on the AAC if they expanded north and east.. Now a hard no. I like the idea of the NCAA granting a waiver to form a FB only conference with UMass, UConn, Temple, Buffalo, Army, Navy and a couple more cast offs

Possibly related to the expansion talk by the Big East commissioner earlier this week?

I do wonder how closely the A10 is monitoring what's going on with C-USA and the recent changes. If the conference ends up imploding and the remaining members are stuck playing as FBS independents, I think Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee St would be good additions to the A10.

Hope they'd go after the big money on the table. Wichita State, Memphis, and/or Temple. Make FBS independence and A10 basketball viable. Maybe an alliance with a similar structure to the College Football Association: media deal, bowl ties.

We can't offer AAC money right now. But that could be a 4-5 bid league.

What is concerning about the A10 is there are crickets when it comes to where the league is headed. Even if they don’t expand they should be requiring investment from their members both in facilities and upgrades in scheduling to enhance the profile of the league. The Commissioner, AD’s and Presidents appear to be doing nothing. This isn’t the Ivy League where the members can live off endowments, with exception of GW.

At this point I just want UMass to find 8-12 partners who want to build and develop a conference that can grow in stature and revenue. Would we be better off with a conference like this: Buffalo, Massachusetts, Temple, Old Dominion, James Madison, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, East Carolina and FIU with Football only members in some combination of Connecticut, Navy, Army, New Mexico State.

One thing I’ve learned in my career is doing something is better that doing nothing. Like a deer in the headlights we are on the verge of becoming road kill.

Commissioner McGlade needs to be on the phone with Temple. With the right leadership and vision, the Atlantic 10 has the opportunity to become the premier mid-major / fringe power conference this time around.

Theres also an opportunity the BE grabs teams like Dayton, SLU or Richmond. Then the A10 becomes irrelevant.

This is my fear and why I am frustrated with the Commish for not trying to bring in a solid bball program or two to make those schools want to stay but also build depth if one or all choose to leave.
