Also the 2012 Final Four.

Wow.
The only WOW here is that instead of Appalachian State taking the hit for the FBI investigation on behalf of the NCAA - It's Louisville instead.

I don't care if everyone from Calapari to Associate Coach X at Oregon gets hit for this..... It's about time the system was exposed (if it in fact needs to be exposed) for what it is. That include the NCAA itself - Greedy Fuckers......

The WOW was for the fact that they actually went through with it. I fully expected them to back off on the stripping of the title... as is their typical m.o. when it comes to big name schools.

I'm sure they'll say it didn't, but I'd be willing to bet the Adidas thing that broke last year played a factor in them sticking with the hammer rather than backing off like the shit organization they are.

Louisville should remove the banner from the YUM Center and hang it proudly in a nearby Louisville strip club.

Slightly off topic. I watched a documentary last night on the intense rivalry between Louisville and Kentucky on the Stadium channel. One Kentucky fan noted the base was skeptical of Pitino at first in part due to his ivy league degree[/u][/u][/b][/b]. I always knew we should be considered a public ivy.

It was a pretty funny documentary although it probably wasn't meant to be that humorous. Also it was filmed around 2013 and the talking heads repeated that the rivalry between Pitino and Calipari would continue on for many years as neither coach would consider leaving their respective programs.

Slightly off topic. If we could just get into the top half of US schools' admissions yields (% of accepted students who decide to enroll; median is 33% and UMass is at 20%) we could drop our acceptance rate to 35%. If we could increase our yield to Louisville standard of 40% we could drop our acceptance rate to 29%. That's among the commonly referred to public ivies.

Michigan - 26.3%
Virginia - 29.8%
UNC - 30.5%
Georgia Tech - 32.2%
UT Austin - 39.2%
William & Mary - 34.5%

Also interesting check out the original 8 "public ivies" as coined by Richard Moll in 1985:

College of William & Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia)
Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) <== If there was going to be a Miami on this list, I'm surprised it's not the one in Florida
University of California (9 campuses as of 1985) <== I know UC system is world class, but can 9 campuses really count as ONE ivy?
University of Michigan (Ann Arbor)
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
University of Texas at Austin
University of Vermont (Burlington) <=== Whaaaaaaaat???? ... OK pal
University of Virginia (Charlottesville)

There are rumors that the Milwaukee Bucks are interested in Pitino to be their next head coach which to me just sounds ridiculous. How can this guy get a second chance so easily and so quickly?

Not sure where to put this but the NCAA commission has put out their report calling for some big changes in how business is done.

That report seems like a whole lot of nothing from what I'm reading.

Response to the NCAA commission report from USA Today Sports (they pretty much agree with Jackson96):

"We shouldn’t be surprised that there are no revolutionary ideas here. The NCAA will continue to bury its head in the sand on the pay-for-play issue as long as it can. We knew before this press conference that the elephant in the room wouldn’t be addressed. But there are positives to take away and considering the mess college basketball is in, that's a start."

The non-conference for @IonaGaelsMBB suddenly becomes more interesting with Rick Pitino at the helm.
The Gaels have Harvard and Fordham And bunch of open dates. Should be interesting.
Might we see a return to Amherst for Mr. Pitino? It would make a great story.
