How about a MAC Conference Board

Hey Mike, There are some MAC topics that cross sports and lately tend to post those that include hoops on the hoops board. But they are primarily hoops and seemily resent leaving the A10. When I posted a topic about the COSA sending congress white papers of special non-employee status, the only comm...

Re: 2024 NCAA Tournament Discussion

Tomorrow night the Women's Final Four begin on ESPN. The MAC is hosting at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The very same location that the MAC holds their conference tourney.

Re: Conference Realignment

Very knowledgeable poster, BeatWestern, says that WKU needs to give CUSA 14 months notice. So if WKU is coming, it need to be announced by April 30th for July 1, 2025. Here is some additional smoke. From Matt Browns ExtraPoints right after the Super League topic. https://www.extrapointsmb.com/p/mail...

Re: MAC Council of Student-Athletes Share Views to Congress

Ok... Steve you're the #1 MAC fan, we get it Yes, get you don't care much what a conference offers beyond hoops. It's an education process of what the conference offers. Whether it's football or any of the many other sports that the MAC is on par with the beloved A10. Know most did not listen to th...

Re: UMass transfer portal news - 2024

Great news on the collective and returning players front. VOR, idk as not a P4, but we are their farm league. They can watch certain players and grab them in the NIL. They also schedule us to fatten up their wins and steal coaches as well. It is the Wild Wild West. The days when Cal did wonders is g...

Re: UMass transfer portal news - 2024

The ONLY solution to this is to allow the power schools to break off from the NCAA and do their own thing. And let the rest try to maintain some semblance of understanding what college sports were originally intended to be when things started out. The fact is that if you were to give any D1 athleti...

Re: Audio Podcast Why UMASS is leaving the A10

We use to play UConn regularly years ago in both football and basketball. Hard to keep these regional things going. UConn was a different issue. They refused to play us and then agreed with Steve Lappas. But sins of all sins, we beat them and never played us again. Think URI will be an easier sell ...

Re: First reaction: UMass to the MAC

I was not jumping to any conclusions, just stating the facts. Ignore the facts if you wish. No one is ignoring it will suck for you, Matty V or a majority of fans, who identified as primarily hoops person*. Everyone agrees the MAC is not as good as A10 in basketball or Women's lacrosse. The rest of...

Re: First reaction: UMass to the MAC

There will be 4 leagues with teams from New England rated higher than us. Big East 6 A-10 8 Ivy. 11 American East 15 MAC 23. Teams like Vermont and UMass Lowell will be in tougher leagues This was pointed out by Matt Vantour. This move makes no sense to me There are ebbs and flows but the A10 will ...
