Re: 2019-20 season

I really hope we don’t need to play Djery too much next season. Even if he’s okay on D, he’s a liability on O and I just can’t get past that. I actually think KTM might have the higher upside as Mitchell’s backup next season since he has decent post moves. Needs to work a lot on conditioning and his...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

I think the Pipkins interview told us everything we needed to know about what was wrong with last year’s team. That was our leader and the guy whose voice held the most weight in the locker room besides the coach, and it was a voice that talks shit about the program. Much more confident about the co...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Yea, let’s just have more hustle and care than last season. Baby steps.

Around the A10 (2019-2020)

Figured I’d start up this year’s version of Around the A10 to give us something to talk about during the dog days of summer. Overall, league will almost certainly be much better than it was last season. Grady and JAG both coming back to Davidson, VCU keeping everyone important, Dayton losing Cunning...

Re: 2019-20 season

^ I have a great feeling about Weeks. I think he could even be a starter by the end of the season. Jumper is silk, solid handle, and has improved dramatically over the past season. Also would be impossible for him to not be a pretty tough kid with Tyrone as a dad.

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Enjoyed his visit but is still waiting to decide. Said his teammates already here were recruiting him hard.

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Here is the tape  https://youtu.be/N-g8EtN0mVU Jackson is right that it’s a dangerous assumption that he can step in and play PG, but at the very least, he seems like a competent ball-handler with good athleticism and vision - someone who could conceivably be molded into a PG down the line. Ou...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Maybe folks missed on him, though and maybe he is very capable of it, I don’t know. Nobody (at least nobody in our shoes) does. We are not scouts. Highlight videos on YouTube are not “tape” — fans sound ridiculous when those among us say “watch the tape!” about a highlight video. You are not a coac...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Welp the CJ Jackson kid just announced his commitment to UMass. I don’t think he even visited yet. The “not another wing” crowd is probably gonna be upset. Maybe not since he appears to be able to run point in his tape. To me he almost looks like a less explosive Deeky with a slightly better lookin...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

One positive example of someone who was in a similar place as far as his lack of D1 interest is Sincere Carry.

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Been a very, very long couple of weeks checking for commitment news everyday, but at least we should have something soon. Last day to sign is May 15th. Even if the news is bad news as far as Degray, MAW or Barthelemy, I just want closure - this whole limbo thing is killing me. Ideally though, give m...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

How many scholarships do we have available? I think if Mika Adams-Woods wanted to play for UMass, he would have committed here by now. Couldn’t the same be said of DeGray, Maidoh, or any of the other guys we are looking at? And couldn’t every other school that’s pursuing him say the same as well? I...

Re: KAEO: Jonathan Laurent

My view of the JL situation is that he was a solid player, but not one that was exceptional enough to really change our outlook for next year. If we are hoping to be middle of the pack in the A10 and maybe get into the top half, I think that’s an equally attainable goal with or without him. He now g...

Re: 2019 Recruiting

Actually, I don't want to get any more freshmen. It's gonna be a challenge to mold them into refuse-to-lose guys. If there's too many of them they create their own critical mass and culture. I think 5 is pretty much the max IMHO. That said, it seems like McCall is looking to fill out the roster wit...
