Let's hope so - it is arguably the most important athletic hiring decision since Cal, given the potential re-emergence and prominence of the program, and the amount of incremental revenue at stake. Done correctly, we should be able to stabilize the entire athletic budget and even add a sport or two....

Sure. But I am not convinced he would go back - this feels really speculative right now. If he builds the program back to prominence, he may be secure enough financially to stay anyway, and build his own track record at UM, versus inheriting an existing successful program. Even if he left, it would ...

Home invasions here are UNHEARD OF. This is a very very quiet section of Boston - lots of elderly folks and young families/small children, just down the street from the (in)famous St. John's seminary of the Boston Archdiocese. It is about .7 miles from the BC campus - this is NOT a neightborhood bee...

Vox, We are dealing with a buyout at Tennessee that is 13X what Lap would get - ridiculous comparison. Executives are fired every day who have a buyout written into their executive compensation. There is no reason to hold MBB coaches, who know the game they are playing is as major profit centers for...

My view is we pulled the trigger on Lappas too quickly 4 years ago - not clear we had vetted enough/the right candidates. That was 2 athletic administrations ago, but still worth not rushing for rushing sake. As things stand now, we have one of the most of prominent jobs available, time will tell if...

Here's a good link to keep up with our competition: http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/7239413 Hopefully they will keep this link updated - 4 coaches fell today alone. Of the open jobs, I would think UMASS would be top echelon, along with Tennessee. I assume ESPN will have one as wel...

We should expect somewhere around a 2-4 week process for the selection of the coach - many of the candidates are tied up through end of March. U.S. Recruiting will be a casualty this year, supplemented by international recruiting. Last thing we want is an overly quick process, like we had with Lap. ...
