AA was not any where close to an NBA player. the only guy in the last 10 years who had a shot at the league was Lasme and possibly RH5.

I boycotted UMass basketball during the lappas era, how did he end his career?

Have you also boycotted the Gaffney thread currently at the top of the page ...

The only one on that list he is better than is Scalabrine.

What's better mean? Scal and his abilities (namely the ability to spread the floor offensively) are much more useful than what Lasme would bring to the table for the C's.

I agree with the poster who pointed out about those examples ...

Not much more to add other than I don't think Mike's rigid censorship is keeping this site from exploding in popularity.

woulda, coulda, shoulda.....It didn't happen. Until it does, there is no valid argument.

When a team is up nine with two minutes to go in the national championship game, I think it's valid to argue that they were national champion-caliber.

As for the notion that he brings in recruits that stay ...

After checking out a few seconds of that clip and looking up the year that movie came out and it's clear when and why the program took a downturn. How the hell did they ever get involved in that?

Seems like a step backward for Forbes. You would think the D-league players at least have some exposure to NBA teams, but this league sounds like triple A farm circuit.

I'm guessing it has to do with $$$. D-League doesn't pay too well from what I understand.

Philippines is certainly an odd ...

Yeah, and DK can do a great job recruiting but he still has some serious strides to make on the sidelines. Not saying he won't make them, but it's not like he's a finished, proven product yet. I'm sure having his players will help a lot.

As far as this kid, I like his name. It's cool.

I don't know if there's a high schooler in the country worth 32 pages. If we do land this kid, great, but I can't think of anyone who has come in with more hype, especially considering most have never even seen play.

Both of these guys will play professionally, but I'd put the odds at Tony at about 1 percent and C. Lowe at 0 for the NBA. Nothing wrong with that, but it's just another level.

I think the thing that is pretty damning in regards to Ford's recruiting class is that these guys have pretty much all landed at significantly lower level programs...Wilcher's at Maine, Lo's at Bryant, Lang isn't even playing anymore. Groebe at Cornell isn't a bad move because that's a solid team ...

Really, you're not kidding?? I think the campus is more worried about fixing buildings that are falling down than building a system of tunnels.

Haha, I had the same reaction. Right up to the point when he wrote: "I'm not kidding" I was waiting for the big punch line.

And there really is an ...

i wouldnt be surprised to see Memphis go after Sean Miller - a young guy who has had success building a program in a lesser conference.

The A-10 is a lesser conference than CUSA? I don't think so.

I can't say for sure, but I think he was saying a lesser conference than the BCS conferences ...

I'm not sure you can tell much of anything from a glorified all-star game, but I do feel like the hype around Stephenson has died down. I saw his team play a game on ESPN earlier this year and couldn't even tell which one he was for a few minutes because he didn't do much of anything.

Ugh, there's nothing I hate more than forced play on names like Mempiss. Some around here do Puke-on which is terrible, though I'm OK with Con-U/U-Con...much less forced. The worst I've probably ever seen is Beli-cheat.

Thus concludes my random tangent, back to the Puke-On trashing!

They aren't retiring his degree though.

If that's their stance, that's fine. But plenty of others don't and I don't agree with the policy.
