Hope springs eternal! Yesterday I was talking to a couple of knowledgeable football people who attended the scrimmage Thursday night. They were both very impressed. One estimated 4 to 5 wins.



There is reason for some optimism, but it is mostly because you [almost literally] cannot be any worse ...

The scheduling for men's basketball is a disgrace.

Total of 10 games in November/December. I of which is with a Division 3 and one is a MAC game. Thus, in reality, 8 our of conference games. No Harvard no URI.

Women, on the other hand, 12 out of conference games. No MAC games, no division 3 ...

Not sure I know what this means but at least it seems genuine: I don’t know if this is going to be the best team I’ve had, but this is the most complete team to my personality

The Mass Mutual Center just got $93M for arena upgrades from the state, including an on-site kitchen. Meanwhile Bamford can't raise capital to do any meaningful improvements to McGuirk and we have hot food being trucked in from across campus to an aging Mullins Center. How great would it be to ...

I thought a successful G5 program meant having $25M worth of landscaping and paint on the exterior of their shitty stadium?

I mean, that is what we are spending all kinds of money on... so I assume that is the recipe?

As I’ve said time and time again, that is an asinine approach to building a program. Put real money into the stadium, which shows you are finally serious about investing in this program and the recruits and results will follow. Or just keep nickel and diming everything and stay in this ...

To me this has become a chicken and egg thing. I say the LAST thing they focus on right now is that concrete barn.

This years UMass team is not one that I can really follow. This in not the normal/usual team just a bunch of foreigners brought in to play for UMass. Very disappointing for me who has followed the team since 1969. There should not be more than 2 foreign players on the team at any time.

It is really hard to tell anything at this point even if you see practices ..... We are not recruiting at the same level anymore (not that we recruited at a higher level any better anyways) so seeing tape and drawing opinions ("Oooh, that kid can play") is mostly meaningless until they strap it on ...

He was hired around the same time as every new coach. KC Keeler was hired 12/1 at Temple and won 5 games in season one. It is not year one. It is year two. All coaches hired in early December have the same hand dealt to them. I am a maroon glasses wearing fool. What I saw last year was the worst ...

We are, indeed, starting over. There are only 11 players remaining from the roster when Joe was hired. That's a good thing aswe all know how bad that roster was. Who knows how many games we'll win, but I do think the roster is much improved.


A variable that is left out here is that coach Joe ...
