Re: Game 4 (2015-16): New Hampshire

We'll see if Mick can hang onto the young guys, but there are only 5 upperclassmen on this team.

Re: 2015-16 Season

I'm glad the hockey team is 3-0-0 but their corsi percentage is 41.2 overall and 39.8 for even strength. In terms of good and bad, that is horrible. It basically means we're spending a lot of time in our own zone. To put it into perspective, BC and UML have corsi percentages this year of 64.5 and 6...

Re: Keeping an eye on the future recruits

I think a year or two in Juniors was always the plan with Leonard...I just figured it would be after his senior season. He was so dominant last year he almost had to jump. As I've mentioned off the board, my big question is if he does two years in the USHL to arrive on campus in 2017 as planned, or ...

Re: Games 12 & 13: Quinnipiac

Shooting % tends too fluctuate and is generally around 10-12%. While I have no doubt that UMass gives up more good scoring opportunities than most teams, there's some poor luck involved in a number as high as 18%. I'd bet my house it's lower by the end of the season.

Re: Games 9 & 10: BC and UVM

Finally, hockey returns to the Mullins Center!! (AIC didn't really count). It would be nice for the Minutemen to get back on track after losing all but one of our conference games so far. Hoping they can take at least one this weekend. They should be well rested, but hopefully they're not too rusty...

Re: Game 1: Boston University

Gilles is awesome, but PC is loaded outside of the crease as well. Lehman is one of the best young coaches in the country, and he's been recruiting and coaching PC back towards the top.

Of course it took an administration that was committed to hockey to get the likes of him in.

Anyone that doesn't think the Globe is the most influential media in New England is fooling themselves. They're just one of several power brokers in this state that at best don't give a shit about our state U and at worst are openly antagonistic towards it.

I'm thinking of buying a new UMass jersey from a guy I know. He has Joel Hanley, Michael Pereira, and Branden Gracel. Which player do you think was the best at UMass (and yes I understand that Gracel and Pereira are forwards and Hanley is a D-man) ? Which one has the best chance to make the NHL (un...

So now I am worried he will go straight to the minors when he gets picked up in the entry draft. Though the hockey draft and who goes back to amateur hockey and who can go straight to the minors has confused me. He probably won't go to the minors b/c teams like players to develop physically, and co...

Sucks the students are gone...that would be a boisterous pre-riot crowd on hand.

I'd expect it to be pretty sparse tonight.
