Re: Where Have You Seen UMass play?
Geesh - I forget Old Cage was an upgrade. What the hell was the Old-Old cage? A barn with chickens and goats running around.

Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III
Is it just me or isn't it a bit counterproductive to have six or seven freshmen scholarships. Not only does it create imbalances on your team and ensures some players will never develop into starters it severely limits future recruitment.

Re: 2019-20 season
If anyone redshirts it would probably be Weeks. Buggs is someone McCall offered early for reason. Like Weeks and Santos but they were beneficiaries of circumstances.

Re: 2019 Recruiting
You have to take best talent but I prefer not to have six true freshmen.

Re: State of the program
With five true freshmen in this class they all could conceivably start as juniors or seniors.
Thomas - C
Mitchell - PF
Santos - SF
Weeks - SG
Buggs - PG
Will be really cool to watch this group develop together. A new UMass gab five.

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell
For those who know these signees well how does Tre compare to Jalen. I assume we will have both on the floor. Does one project more as a power forward.

Re: KAEO: John Buggs III
Buggs just retweeted Weeks statement as soon as it was posted. Nice to see.
Weeks statement talks about "joy" and "life long dream" to play for Umass. Really heartfelt statement.
Also, the Buggs thread was buried. Forgot how good he looked. His development and support s so key now.

Re: KAEO LuWane Pipkins (PG-2015)
I always thought Cooley was a soft players coach in the Bru and Kellogg mold. I think Pipkins just wanted some place where he could freelance in the end.

Whats the depth chart look like. Confusing for an outsider. Who are the back up guards. Lots of freshmen and swing players.
Starting Guards:
Keon
Carl
Second Guards:
Buggs (Think hell be a tier above the Woodstock guards)
?
Developmental:
Weeks
Murphy

Totally missed that he made it official. Thought he would stay because of all the available playing time. Seems lame to me. Kids are so soft these days. Who knows whats in their heads.

Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks
Obviously the open scholarships and connections help but I bet he wowed staff with personal interections. There are a few clips out there and he's a thoughtful polished team oriented kid with obvious ties. Just being realistic, dont think hes an upper echelon A10 athlete but a 4 year kid who ...

Bumped. Just because there is no way this should be the 7th topic (9th with stickies). And only about three posts.
I know its a down year but geeesh. Lets win a couple games and dream a little. Its Tourney time.

Re: Game 24, 2018-19: Davidson (2/9)
I dont watch the games anymore but very interesting box score. Is it a coincidence that we played our best without Pipkins? I dont know how MM rotates playing time from game to game but it looks like Laurent, Holloway, Kieran, and Cobb have had their PT greatly reduced. Suprised to see Unique with ...
