For UMass to win: 1. They have to get hot from the outside. They should be able to hold their own inside, but they will need to knock down a bunch of 3s. 2. Freeman and/or Lasme have to get Smith in foul trouble. Getting Smith out of the game is obvious, but also Dudley isn't as effective without Sm...

Bob Behler saying the game is definitely on. He is broadcasting his radio show from Conte.

Two of the best shotblockers in the country (Lasme and Sean Williams) tonight. Should be plenty of rejections.

This is complete conjecture, but here's a possibility that I haven't seen mentioned in all of these "what happened" threads: It was New Years. Maybe a bunch of them partied all weekend, and showed up to the early afternoon game hungover and/or physically wiped out from the festivities. The...

I think today was the first day without Imus. They probably decided to do an overhaul for the new year

Hopefully this works out. We could use a good local sports talk show. The stuff they've had on 640 during the drive home over the last couple of years has been pretty bad. Interesting that 640 also dumped Imus in the morning for ESPN radio. Which makes sense since it's supposed to be sports radio, b...

I wouldn't get TOO excited about the 7 for 10. Don't forget 2 of those were banked in. But it is definitely a step in the right direction

Back to the game . . .

Can somebody who was at the game give an assessment of Viggiano? It looks from the box score like he had another solid game. Hopefully he is on his way to turning it around after the slow start.

I said the same thing last year, Jeff should take some mid-range jumpers to get his confidence back, and then maybe go back and try some 3s. But for whatever reason it's almost always either a 3 or a drive to the hoop, rarely anything in between. Lappas has said in the past that he tells him to keep...

That must be based on something other than the attendance of a televised game played in near blizzard conditions, otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

Re: Honestly.....Part 2

The set play for the 3 by Lee was a GREAT call. You can't be serious. It was a great SHOT, but not a great CALL. I find it hard to believe that was the call. If it was, then you have to seriously question why you would design a play like that for by far the worst outside shooter on the floor. If he...

I didn't realize Skinner was such a good rebounder until I read the article. How tall is he? He doesn't look that big . . .

Don't under estimate BC just because they lost Bell and Sydney. Obviously you can't replace Bell, but losing Sydney may be addition by subraction. He was a good player, but streaky and a distraction. They have much more balance this year, with 3 freshmen making very solid contributions. You mentione...
