Re: Game 1, 2025: Temple (H, 8/30)

New coach, new QB, same old same old. I'm out. Will root for a team that always wins like Alabama. Oh wait...shit!

Re: OFFICIAL UMass references in Television, Film, etc. thread

You people don't even know about the really great places that are now history. The Drake. Mike's in north Amherst. Rahar's in Northhampton. And the Italian place on route 9 that had a notell motel connected to it. And Ma's on route 9 that became a MacDonalds. That's all my old brain can remember.

Re: Thorr Bjorn

I remember hearing it on the radio, Coudn't believe what I was hearing. I don't think it ever happened before or after at any college basketball game. Those were the days.

Re: 2025-26 Season

Floyd, you are right on all counts. That's why I no longer expect anything. It's sad to pin your hope for relevancy on a win by the women's LAX team. They lost today, by the way, so there's another year down the shitter for UMass sports.

Re: 2025-26 Season

I follow the team every year, for a lot longer than most of you on here. I have simply stopped being excited by anything anyone (including Frank Martin) has to say at the beginning of each season. It would save many of you (Floyd) the heartburn and heartache of expecting anything good.

Re: 2025-26 Season

Why does anyone even care? It's going to be the same old shit it has been since Calipari left. That's a long time to keep getting excited about nothing.

Re: Game 29, 2024-25: Rhody (3/1)

You guys with your talk about the draft lottery. There was no lottery when I was at UMass. You either enlisted, went to Canada, or went to jail. There was none of this "I'm taking a semester off and backpack through France." If you dropped out of college you were in the Army or whatever branch ...

They beat Maryland this morning 10-1. There's something going on with softball that may be good. Stay tuned.

Re: Historical milestones

I was in the pep band. The team name was " the Aggies" but some farmers got upset so it was changed to "the Redmen".
