Re: 2024-25 Season

^ I think Curry blossoms more and more as the season goes on. You can see the talent and ability to get shots. He's very even keeled out there, what you want in your pg. DHS is my guy, I think he has a nice overall game and will impact many games, scoring, rebounding, & defensively.
What I think ...

Re: Game 2, 2024-25: at West Virginia (11/8)

A few posts after the UNH game were ready to write off Marqui Worthy as a non contributor. A no skills guy. What he showed last year (sporadically) and what he showed at PC 2weeks ago (I witnessed it) and what he showed early in the second half last night was the ability to slash to the rim for a ...

Re: 2024-25 Season

At Amica Center tonite: UM played Friars even in the first half. Tenacious defense, ball pursuit, closing on open 3pt shooters, quick hands, blocking/altering shots. Anemic offense other than Curry & Worthy. Guards as a group had minimal assists - largely due to poor shooting all around. Floor ...

Re: 2024-25 Season

At halftime down 32-29, UM shot 32% to Friars 50% but we were 9/19 inside the arc. We were 11-13 from the free throw line -making 4 more ft than Friars. We had ~4 more steals and 5 fewer turnovers. Rebounds: UM 16-PC 15. Paint points about even. Assists: UM 1 - PC 6. Benchpoints; advantage UM 9.

I saw a picture of Worthy in practice of FB. Looks like he's been very active in the weight room. Appears in excellent condition as far as I can tell from a picture.

Are the reports of player weights ever reliable? Worthy was on ...

Re: 2024-25 Season

The battle for playing time is going to be really interesting this year. Last year, we knew 4 starters (Cohen, Cross, Diggins, Keon). Jayden was a surprise, but I think we expected Curry and DHS to get a lot of minutes. This year we have Diggins and Curry. Where do Jayden and DHS fit in?
Frank ...

Re: Malek E. On the podcast Frank distinguished between
a high flying athletic shot blocker and a guy (Malek) who can use his body/defensive foot movement to prevent other bigs from getting good shots (he specifically cited the Bonnie's big man back the the basket style player). At the same time he ...

It looks like he's a PWO so we still have 4 spots open.

UMass adds 2024 F John Brigham, 6-10. Dexter Southfield (MA).

High academic prospect, agressive post & glass presence. Will be a PWO, per source.

I really like this, then. Nothing but upside. And makes ...

Re: 2024-25 Season

Why are we guessing about who's leaving? We'll find out soon enough.
Regarding Chad Venning , if you're saying the possibility is "interesting", well I can't say what our angle on him could be or why he'd want to come play for a team they have always beaten. But, his worthiness and potential impact ...

Re: A10 Standing/Seeding Changes Discussion

Do people know that our first game will be against a team that just hit 18 -3's and did not resemble the team we beat here earlier this year? And VCU will only have to beat a 12/13 seed on Wed..

Re: 2024 Recruiting

Here's footage of Luka Damjanic (2024) in U18 Euro championships. He's got good size and agility around the hoop. Like to see him develop a baby hook and or turnaround J to diversify his offense. No sign he's a 3 pt shooter in this video. As much as I love Cohen's
effort and his odds defying shots ...

Nice to see the positivity on this board in recent posts. And I don't mean being uncritical of the players or coach. I'm talking respect for other posters and humility about one's own opinions. I was beginning to not want to read or post here again. Thanks to those who try!

Re: Game 4, 2023-24: Central CT (11/22)

Since we're into insulting people on this site, I have to say that if you are "The Sign-man" who has haunted mens basketball game sidelines for 30 + years, then more painful than a 425 page book assessing the teams strengths and weaknesses - are your usually silly but sometimes awful puns.
