Pretty excited to have Tourney coming to AT&T Center in San Antonio. Would be amazing to see UMass come to town. There is a good solid handful of UMass grads working for the Spurs these days that are keeping their fingers crossed.

Been a long long time since I've posted like many but it's been ...

Been watching more college basketball lately... like the intensity on this team, I'm ok with good threes - especially with the zones they have been seeing. Think there were 5 or so 3's that could have been better looks either contested or way behind the arc.

Its been fun watching them so far this ...

Surprises

Coby Karl – Denver / 15ppg 4.4rpg 2apg 1.4 stl 61.5fg%

This 26-year old shooting guard had a great few games. In 5 games, the 6-5 Karl shot out of his mind. He connected on an amazing 61.5% of his shots, which were mostly jump shots for an average of 15 ppg. Karl was ...

From Hoopsworld...

The Legend Of Tony Gaffney: In the draft process you occasionally come across a player that is easy to root for, in this year's class UMASS' Tony Gaffney is that guy. Underestimated at every level of play and told he could not achieve success Gaffney keeps plugging along and ...

Talent Rankings

Since the Spurs are vacationing a bit early this year I decided to take a look at Clark Francis' talent evaluations for next years team.

I Like what Clark does because he ranks players 1-1000 but then groups them by points (1-10) based on where they fall in the rankings, noting that there is not ...

this past season was definitely disapointing and it got a little difficult to watch at times even though there were some bright spots.

I was a little surprised but not completely shocked that we seemed to have some ...

OJ Mayo played in the durham hoophall classic - so I guess in theory he did play in a hoophall classic run by the hall of fame. I probably wouldn't have included him in the advertising for the Springfield event, but not going to change the fact that this is the best field ever...

Keep in mind that Kellogg and TJ are close and TJ was Wilchers AAU coach for at least four years. My guess is that this is all fairly well planned
and that Wilcher will end up at a smaller adidas school...

Interesting - Max Good was Lamar Odom's coach in prep school. My favorite stoy from Good is that he forced Caron Butler and Dermarr Johnson to hand back to me the 2nd place trophy - because they didn't deserve it. I think that was in 1999.

Most folks know my thoughts on the subject, for whatever that's worth. I wish him nothing but the best. I think he did right by the University... I can understand feeling a bit undermined by his decision, but some of the animosity seems a bit misplaced...
