Re: Still Confident in McCall?

I'm not in such a hurry to get rid of McCall, even though I think he has some real deficiencies. A posted a couple of times about Mark Schmidt's career and how long it took him to start winning consistently. I just took a look at Porter Moser's career, now that he's back in the Sweet 16 with Loyola...

That’s me! Thanks for reading and sharing — I haven’t been on here as much because I forgot my password some time back and got lazy about solving that. Go U!

Re: 2020 Recruiting

I’m hoping we get Frederick Scott and Ronnie DeGray. A big to backup Tre and another big to work as DD’s backup now that Samba’s out

Re: 2020-21 Season

Most likely starting 5, if Fernandes is eligible: Fernandes Pierre Santos Diallo Mitchell Starting 5 I'd most like to see: Fernandes Garcia Santos Diallo/Walker - can't decide Mitchell TJ seemed to be so effective no matter when/where he gets chucked in. I have the most questions about how Pierre f...

Re: 2020-21 Season

If everyone is healthy and eligible, we are going to be loaded with depth so there will have to be some hard decisions about who gets fed the scraps as far as playing time. If I had to guess the rotation, I would think that the starters would be: Noah Carl TJ Dyondre Tre JG and Preston the first guy...

Re: 2020 A10 Offseason News

It’s too early to tell obviously, but I expect Dayton to bounce back and still be a double-bye contender by virtue of the fact that everybody and their mother in the portal and recruiting circuit will want to play for a top 5 team. Feel pretty confident that they’ll land a couple of big time guys.

2020 A10 Offseason News

Figured I’d start a thread like this so we could have a designated place to say “holy sh**” throughout the coming months whenever big transfers or recruiting news around the league happens. I know everyone knows about the dumpster fire happening at Rhody, but it seems like it could be getting worse....

Re: 2020-21 Season

I have seen a few posts that are optimistic about next season. I see little evidence that the team will be any better in 20/21. Neither of the two known recruits appear to be game breakers. As of now the team would be very thin up front. There is the possibility that both Keon and Carl move on. The...

Re: Game 28, 2019-20: VCU (2/26)

The fact that we would pass them in the standings with a win is pretty wild. They were ranked in the preseason and now here we are. Let’s get em.

Re: Game 22, 2019-20: at Davidson (2/1)

This is a game you have to win if you don't want to play on day one. I wouldn’t go that far. It’s a winnable game and would certainly go a long way towards us finishing 10th or better, but there are plenty of ways to get there without getting this one, especially since there are plenty of bad + awf...

Re: 2020 Recruiting

Who is Richards? I checked our recruiting page on 247 and name-searched him with “UMass” on twitter but couldn’t find anything about him.

Re: 2019-20 Team Rankings

The answer is yes, Saint Joe’s is bad enough that a tight win would drop us in the rankings on sites like Kenpom. For the most part, they expect us to win by ~7 or 8, so anything less than that would mean we didn’t live up to where they had us. The real point, though, is who cares. Except for the fa...

Re: 2019-20 season

Don’t know if you guys have seen these interviews that WMUA has been putting out. They did ones with Preston, Carl, and Davonte as well, but this one (Kolton’s) I thought was the most encouraging and insightful. https://twitter.com/wmuasports/status/1222349613836972032?s=21 He emphasized how tired e...

Re: Game 20, 2019-20: Duquesne (1/25)

As far as a starting 5 though, give me Kolton, Carl, Preston, Samba, Tre. East, Keon, and Dibaji can be an offensive spark off the bench when we need one. Preston deserves to get a start for what he’s done on defense in recent games.
