Re: Hockey vs UNH 11/19 & 11/20

The only thing that bothers me about Mullins' rink is that the seats are so far away for basketball. The risers fill up when there are big crowds. But with the thin crowds UMass gets these days, it just adds to its cavernous feel. Same issue I have with the seats at McGuirk.

Re: Attendance figures

College Athletics should be on campus. It's one of the best ways to engage a community of students and alumni. Engaging the campus community, getting people back on campus is the priority. But when students are not on-campus (because of winter break), I think it opens the opportunity to prioritize e...

Re: Replacements for McCall

I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV. I don't know how these things shake out. They may measure on AAV. As far as I know, the only obligation Miller has is to make a reasonable and diligent effort towards obtaining employment in a "comparable employment position" defined by occupation ...

Re: Replacements for McCall

Here's Miller's IU contract. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzKlvgmrIBv3cy0tVWo2MGRTOUE/view?resourcekey=0-KrL9aUT7OjRzOkjWt2S9JQ If I understand it correctly he's owed $10.35M, paid in monthly installments until the end of his contract (6.02.G). So $287.5k per month. The $287.5k per month is redu...

Re: Replacements for McCall

I'm not sure what you mean about Archie Miller's buyout. He's not currently employed, UMass would not have to buy him out. He's sitting on cash.
I don't think it's realistic because he likely has better opportunities (although not necessarily because he didn't land a spot last spring).

Re: Attendance figures

Playing alternate sites during winter break isn't a terrible idea IMO. Agree that MassMutual center is a good size.

I'm a healthy 20-something. I can assure you I regularly put more harmful substances in my body than whatever the booster shots do. 🍻 :D

Re: COVID- 19 VACCINE SHOT

Do the skeptics think they have time to be hesitant? Even if the polio vaccine was "tried and true". Which honestly are we really going with the notion that 1955 testing/medicine was more refined than 2021? It killed nobody compared to covid. 3k a year? COVID killed 800k+ Americans so far....

Re: 2022 Recruiting

We've had a number of P5 transfers over the years. Maybe even a couple of high rated 4-stars. But traditionally it was either by way of JUCO or grad-transfer. Adam Breneman is the highest I can think of off the top of my head. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Adam-Breneman-12363/RecruitInterests/ T...

Re: COVID- 19 VACCINE SHOT

AFAIK Twitter giving warnings is above and beyond anything they're legally required to do. A private enterprise forcibly removing someone from their service? United Airlines says hello. What was Greene's position on the gay wedding cake ? Is this not the kind of corporate agency the GOP (and corpora...

Re: COVID- 19 VACCINE SHOT

I'm not opposed to treating Twitter as a public utility.
But I do find the censorship of GOPers, those who advocate against regulation of private business, to be sweet irony.

Re: Attendance figures

Its like going to a shitty 2 hr movie, but they give you a free bag of chips on the way in. Attendance is up a little at first, then people either walk out early or stop going. Good movies- more people Movie theaters are an interesting comparison because nowadays they have to justify the experience...

Re: COVID- 19 VACCINE SHOT

Who cares about spread? We don't lock down society for the common cold.

What matters are outcomes: hospitalizations, deaths. The vaccine lowers those significantly.

Got one at Costco a couple years ago. It has Roku built in so you can use your phone as the clicker and even listen with headphones connected to your phone.
