Re: Mid-season MAC check-up
Anyone do a wellness check on Steve81? These Maction bowl games are the greatest. Toledo just won in 6ot and the Mac is now 3-1 with another game tonight. Can’t wait for Umass to be playing in one of these. Honestly it's been a really great bowl performance for the MAC so far. The wins have come ag...

Re: Students
Oh, also back in the day there wasn't a hockey band. But not there is and it draws from the same students. That creates an even bigger time commitment for the kids.
It's tough. It can be fun if you do it right, though.

Re: Students
Former hoop band member here: There's only a stipend for the winter break, and is otherwise assignment based, with only the "top" players in each section technically being regarded as "important" for it. For the saxes that would be the ones up front on the mics (one per part), fo...

Re: Men's Soccer
Being affiliated with Denver is a good move. Would love to see us play them more often in hockey!
And this is a good league, happy to see it. Happy to see Delaware in there with us as well.

Yup - very cool for them. The northeast was pretty solid this year for soccer as it turns out.inthescoop wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 10:15 am Wow, Vermont wins their first national championship! Good for them.

Hairston sticking around and advocating for the team is what I want to see though.

I’m not typing that guy’s name out every time. He shall be JH henceforth. Good hire. I will not offer the first “we gotta get rid of this guy” but somebody’ll say it sometime. Typing it is one thing, pronouncing it is quite another…  Anybody know to say his last name? Hara sim’ eee...

Not a lot of years as Head Coach, but he did take Maine to a CAA Championship after years of them being underwhelming. He's got ties to the region, has been successful at FBS positions, and is only 38 years old.

^ I don't know enough about his offense or football x's and o's to have a real opinion on if it will work here or not, but I do know that win or lose, high scoring games are more fun. The Liberty loss was competitive and fun (right up until the end) and the UConn loss was the same. Losing 35-30 is ...

Neil Brown has been fired! The inevitable has happened - now let’s see if UMass goes after Neal Brown, or more importantly, if Brown has any interest in coaching UMass. He'd immediately have the best head coaching resume at UMass of the previous 4 FBS coaches here. Hope he does have interest. He ju...
