Re: 2021-2022 Season

I think Dominguez is someone who could improve a lot over his college career. He’s got good size and a pretty good shot (not great shooting form though). He was a little lost last year, as many freshmen are, but with some added confidence I think he can be a contributor this year.

Re: 2021-2022 Season

I really like the roster this year IF Steadman and Buttrick can provide interior D/toughness/rebounding. I think MM did a good job keeping the team together. I think Ronnie was always going to jump at an opportunity to be closer to Colorado and at a bigger school. Who knows what happened with Tre an...

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

^ i agree. W_to_A, I know you're not bashing Tre, but I think alot of times he was the last man and when things broke down, many times it was 2 on 1 at the rim and thats a tough spot. I think as he gets stronger, he'll be more physical. As the lead scorer most of the time, its also tough to be a lo...

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

I don't think he has 0 desire, but I think he had a tendency to float around a lot on D. Last season I can remember a couple games where he had an impact on the defensive end and on the glass, but a lot of other games I didn't see that. To me, that means he wasn't giving it his all on that end of th...

Re: 2021 Recruiting

This entire offseason players were led to believe they could transfer without sitting. I think that should still apply, and the new guidance should be put in place once this season starts. Not sure the NCAA will see it that way, though.

Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks

TJ was not used right last year IMO. I don't think he has to be a starter, but he should have gotten a lot more minutes. He has the ability to score going to the hoop and shooting from outside and I'd like to see him get 25-30 minutes a game.

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

Agreed. Obviously he's a hard worker and spends a lot of time in the gym, otherwise he wouldn't be so skilled. But his desire to win and willingness to do uncomfortable things seemed to be lacking at UMass. He's going to have to get a lot tougher/meaner and play a lot harder the entire game if he's ...

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

The rationale of not developing enough at Umass/under MM seems straightforward to me, as long as he ends up at a big time school. A "big time school" isn't necessarily a better place for player development. In general, I think playing against a higher level of competition game in/game out...

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

The rationale of not developing enough at Umass/under MM seems straightforward to me, as long as he ends up at a big time school. I agree that if you're talented enough the NBA will find you (Dame Lillard, etc). But what if you aren't quite good enough? What if you're a step slow and not quite stron...

Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III

Purely speculation but I agree that you have a destination lined up if you’re entering the portal this late in the game. Too many other good players in the portal to just jump in blind. It sucks that we don’t get to see these talented freshmen develop over the years. Ronnie has a lot of offensive ta...

I would expect to see Holy Cross back on the schedule, with DCU games included in the series.

Re: Is MM a winner?

I don't think anyone would be too upset about (seemingly) screwing over a kid who wanted to come to the school because he wasn't going to be good enough, if the team actually won. Like some of the other guys said, what is bothersome is MM saying he wants kids that play for the name on the front of ...

Re: 2021 Recruiting

I agree that Matthews probably wasn’t going to be an all league player. Doubtful he would’ve provided any meaningful contribution on the court next year, but he could have been a kid who came in and worked to hard to get better, along with being an enthusiastic teammate. Looks like there’s going to ...

Re: 2021 Recruiting

I think a lot of us were hoping the roster was going to be built with guys who really wanted to be at the school, and Matthews seemed like that type of kid. McCall clearly doesn’t care about that. Can’t really blame any player that wants to move on to greener pastures since McCall doesn’t show any l...
