Re: Game 6, 2022-23: at South Florida (11/29)

That’s what you’re getting out of this thread? That people are complaining we aren’t winning by more? The general sentiment seems to be happy we won without playing really well.

Re: Game 6, 2022-23: at South Florida (11/29)

Second half was a bit of a letdown — that’s two in a row where we haven’t played great with a lead. That said, winning ugly is better than losing ugly. Halfcourt offense is a bit of a work in progress, the turnovers are piling up and I thought the rebounding was meh. But we continue to play hard, ar...

Re: Game 6, 2022-23: at South Florida (11/29)

Slow start but we kept defending and got out in transition and got some easy hoops. Cut back on the turnovers and we should be just fine.

Re: Need Your Help - The Massachusetts Collective

It’s something much needed if we are to stay competitive in this new NIL era. I joined and I hope others do too.

Re: Expectations for 2022-23 Season

Lot of close games predicted by that dude which seems about right. I think I counted 15 games that he has being decided by 5 points or less. I do think our offense and defense are going to keep a lot of our games close for different reasons. We aren’t particularly explosive offensively, don’t shoot ...

Re: Game 5, 2022-23: vs Charlotte (11/20, Myrtle Beach Championship)

Their defense kept them out ahead even when the offense went clogged toilet. Charlotte’s defense picked up in that second half and we weren’t very strong with the ball. Our D kept playing though — and Charlotte isn’t particularly explosive — and the lead never really felt unsafe (to me at least.) Ni...

Re: 2023 Recruiting

Sounds like the Davis kid is having a really strong start to his season. At least that’s what I’m seeing on Twitter. I think he and Worthy are gonna be really good players for us when it is all said and done.

Re: Game 5, 2022-23: vs Charlotte/Tulsa (11/20, Myrtle Beach Tourney)

It’s very early, but Charlotte seems like they might be decent. They beat Boise St by 12 which beat new A10 member Loyola Chicago by 22. Not sure I see this huge talent disparity that others do. I think it’s going to be a good game.

Re: Game 4, 2022-23: vs Murray State (11/18, Myrtle Beach Tourney)

Helluva win. Going small down the stretch made a big difference as some folks have pointed out. Ball pressure was that much better and they still held their own on the glass (Yes Scoop -- this was a game where their rebounding was awesome  ) I think we know Frank likes playing big, so it was g...

Re: Game 3, 2022-23: vs Colorado (11/17, Myrtle Beach Tourney)

Did you guys actually watch the game or just looked at the stats after the game? I didn’t see any other posts here saying they had a “doctors appointment”. Yep I watched the game and at no point did I say “wow we are rebounding the shit out of the ball!” I don’t post a lot during games because I mi...

Re: Game 3, 2022-23: vs Colorado (11/17, Myrtle Beach Tourney)

People will do anything here to get negative after winning against a PAC12 team who just beat a top 15 team.  This board never fails. One can be happy with a win while also pointing out someone on the board is making a stupid argument. These things are not mutually exclusive. Nor does it...

Re: Game 3, 2022-23: vs Colorado (11/17, Myrtle Beach Tourney)

We outnumbered Colorado on defensive rebounds - they had way more offensive rebounds due to some bounces that went their way, or they had more misses than us. Not an excuse for offensive rebounds but when is the last time we outnumbered a Power 5 conference team in defensive rebounds by 5+? I am de...

Re: Game 3, 2022-23: vs Colorado (11/17, Myrtle Beach Tourney)

Thought we shot pretty well (well we did on non-threes and non-free throws lol) and competed. A bit loose with the ball, gave up too many offensive rebounds, but CU didn’t help themselves with their shooting.

Def will take it. Held on for a nice win.

They clearly didn’t play very well and weren’t very good at either end. Martin is coaching like a guy trying to figure out his team and his players. Gonna take some time.

Re: Game 2, 2022-23: Towson (11/10)

Other than the starters shooting 3 for 22 and the team not playing much D or rebounding very well, we’d be right in this.

I wish Timberlake had gone in the portal and come home.
