Re: FIRE WALT BELL!

Are you saying that the idea of moving the medical school from Worcester to Amherst was being kicked around by Holub? I think that is part of the reason why the opened the Springfield med school campus. https://www.umassmed.edu/news/news-archives/2017/11/new-springfield-campus-of-medical-school-foc...

Hockey's my favorite UMass sport. Women's basketball is quickly becoming my second favorite.

Pick hockey. Even if they lose it's almost guaranteed to be a better game.

Re: Alcohol

In the end, UMass sports are very reasonably priced, but as things loosen up I hope that the food choices improve. Too much salt and fat. The department does a respectable job to to engage fans and improve fan relations, but they miss the mark badly on this one. For a university that loves to tout ...

I chose the women over the men tonight and glad I did. First women's game I've watched in a few seasons.

Has there been any info on when the Banner Raising, etc. will take place on Friday? Before the game, during one of the intermissions or after the game? According to this article from a month ago it will be before the game. https://umassathletics.com/news/2019/11/5/massachusetts-hockey-to-recognize-...

From Coach Carvel's weekly email: "On Friday night [December 6th] Cale Makar will be returning to the Mullins Center for the unveiling of yet another banner that will forever hang from the rafters recognizing him as the 2019 Hobey Baker Winner! It will be great to have Cale back in the building...

R&G, same here. I thought the food was great. Can't imagine what it's like now I also thought the food was pretty good in the 1980's, but then I went to Hampshire in Southwest before a Hockey game last winter. For me it was like entering the Chocolate Room in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Facto...

Re: Jim Dietz retires

Yes, it does. Jim Helling is the sports psychology guy that supposedly got fired. However, that Dietz was forced out doesn't surprise me as his salary was pretty high (mostly because of his longevity) for a coach of a non-revenue sport. Moreover, members of the women's rowing team were pretty dismay...
