Re: Is MM a winner?

^ I believe it's typical for a HC to be given a pool of money for assistants, that he can divvy up however he sees fit amongst the staff. I'm not sure where the money came from to give Tony as much as they did, maybe it came out of McCall's own salary. It's not a certainty that firing TB, and/or hir...

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

^ LOL, I bet Will Wade made him and Tony a "strong-ass offer". Like “ We take Tre and TB stays as far away as possible.” Similar to the offer that the Springfield Central coaching staff made back in the day, at least the second part!! https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2828357-report-sha...

Re: 2021 Recruiting

^ This is more about the fact that he continually asserts this particular opinion without adding any new information, or adding anything to the discussion... not about the opinion itself, even though I disagree with it. But I do think with the departure of DeGray, adding another big, or at least a v...

Re: 2021 Recruiting

^ I don't think it impacts Steadman, CJ Kelly, or Buttrick. Both CJ Kelly and Steadman sat a year after transferring previously, so they're allowed to take advantage of the new rule. Buttrick hasn't transferred before. The only one who this might impact would be Rich Kelly, who grad tranferred from ...

Re: Is MM a winner?

And what is Matthew Wayne McCall building? This is my issues, what is the plan what is the direction. What is something our coaches excel at? With Derek you could point to him being a great recruiter and I think the guys got better over the time they spent in Amherst. Are we skill development exper...

A "big time school" isn't necessarily a better place for player development.

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

He left because he didn't feel he could develop under McCall. I have posted this already. What exactly does that mean? He thinks McCall can't help him develop his individual skills, or his team-based skills? A lot of that comes down to the assistant coaches, so does he think Tony is insufficient? I...

Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III

He *only* made 51 fgs all year, with splits of 54%/37%, playing within the offense and averaging 9 pts and 5 boards. I get the need to upgrade interior defense, but good luck finding a defensive upgrade at the 4 who will also shoot better. That's really dreaming. McCall's offense wants to score at ...

Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III

DeGray shot 37% from 3 on almost 2 attempts/game. That's excellent for a freshman 4 in the A10, or really any conference. I do agree about the deficiency in interior defense. He only made 10 3's all season, and he was 33% in A10 conference play. He only ever took them when there wasn't a defender w...

Re: KAEO: Ronnie DeGray III

It sucks that we don’t get to see these talented freshmen develop over the years. Ronnie has a lot of offensive talent, but he has a long way to go on the defensive end. DeGray, while talented, wasn't a particularly good fit. He's effective from 15ft and in, but he's not really much of a deep threa...
