Re: Festivus Holiday Post: Airing of Grievances About the Mullins Center (aka The Bill)
The Mullins Center definitely needs a facelift. My big gripe is that it is too big, and yes, I know if we were top 25 in the country and a perennial tournament contender it would be perfect, but we aren't and haven't been for a long time. I would love to see them take out some seats and open up to t...

Re: Game 5, 2023-24: South Florida (12/2)
I read in the Gazette recap this morning that DHS was dealing with an illness. I also saw the play where he came down awkwardly, so it's no surprise that he sat the rest of the game, especially since we had a decent lead for most of the second half. https://articles.gazettenet.com/UMass-men-s-basket...

Re: Game 5, 2023-24: South Florida (12/2)
Interesting note about DHS, I hadn't heard that until now. Did you hear that that during the pregame radio interview? Even though it was sloppy, there were a lot of positives in this game. - We didn't back down and competed with a much older physical team - Keon was the man when Cross and Cohen were...

Re: Game 5, 2023-24: South Florida (12/2)
Game day, finally. I hope there isn't too much rust from the break and they can come out aggressive and get Cross and Cohen going early.

Re: Game 4, 2023-24: Central CT (11/22)
This was a get right game, and our stars came to play. It's nice to see UMass get a lead against an inferior opponent and keep their foot on the gas. I credit Cross' nonstop effort with that. For the Curry and Davis crowd, Curry is getting there, learning what he can and can't do against D1 competit...

Re: Game 4, 2023-24: Central CT (11/22)
You know, I'm hearing a lot of people say that this is a new time change, but somehow I knew about this weeks ago, maybe more. I took a half day from work and invited some people to come knowing it was an afternoon game. Maybe they changed it a while back and are just sending out reminders now in ca...

Re: 2023 Game 2: at Auburn
I'm in the camp that thinks that while Puma's injury was a blow to the team, it is not even close to the reason why we lost so many games early on. Carlos Davis came in and played pretty darn well, and I think he deserves some respect for his performances. 61.4% completion, 6TD to 3int and 886 yards...

Re: Game 4, 2023-24: Central CT (11/22)
I didn't go back too far in the record books, but the most recent Thanksgiving eve game we hosted was against UM Lowell in 2021 at 7PM and we had 1,492 in the building (maybe partly due to post-Covid issue). Previously, we hosted Northeastern in 2014, the game was moved up due to a snow storm, and w...

Re: 2023-24 Season
Free throw shooting clearly needs improvement with this group. In last night's Harvard game, we had at least three separate occasions where guys went to the line for two and missed both (Cohen twice, Ndjigue once). Through 3 games, we're shooting free throws at 54.9%, hitting 61.5% against Albany, 6...

Re: Game 3, 2023-24: Harvard (11/17)
No further comment on the game as it's all been pretty much covered, but shoutout to the students who showed up last night. They moved the band over to fill part of the student section (great idea), and students actually showed up and nearly filled up the rest of the section, as well as sitting in o...

Re: Who is your favorite UMass BBall Player of All Time?
I'm going to go a different route here and just make it from the group that was around when I was a student, which brings me to... Lasme. That dude was an absolute machine to watch and had some of the bets defensive plays we've been able to enjoy. I appreciate the effort he put in on both sides, an...

Re: Game 2, 2023-24: Quinnipiac (11/13)
I was worried in the early going, the scouting report on Q seemed accurate. We had a tough time defending them and we couldn't penetrate their zone for a while, but after about 10 minutes it started to open up. Having Cross out with fouls certainly doesn't help, you see what he can do when he's lock...

Re: The football future poll
Bump I come here to read about the football program, but this friggin guy, damn Steve81, we get it. Your point has been made, you've shouted it from the mountain tops for all to hear, and trust me, we've heard you. Typically when a broken record is playing, people turn it off and throw it out. Some ...

Re: 2024 Recruiting
^ 100%. We're not naïve and know that there is going to be roster turnover every year. It's not the good old days any more. With that said, we apparently have a well stocked collective, and these recruits are coming to play for Frank. There has to be buy in, and we can't turn the roster over every y...
