Re: 2024-25 Season
Actually I think DHS has been our best player so far this season. Been very consistent, he's scoring, rebounding and playing great D. If he's out, it's a chance for others to get more time, but I want him in there. He's really coming on this year I agree that he has been our best player, and probab...

Re: 2024-25 Season
Until ASU, we don't play anyone who will give us problems with height. None of them start a player over 6'8 and they don't have anyone coming off the bench over 6'7 who plays any meaningful minutes. CCSU has 3 guys who hit the 3 at over 38%, Lowell hits the 3 at 38% as a team and Northeastern has a...

Re: Transfer Portal
Doesn't surprise me. There's what, over 100 18-23 year old scholarship players on an FBS team? You're bound to have a few knuckleheads. Simpson just happened to be a talented knucklehead.

Re: Head Coach Search 2024
^ I don't know enough about his offense or football x's and o's to have a real opinion on if it will work here or not, but I do know that win or lose, high scoring games are more fun. The Liberty loss was competitive and fun (right up until the end) and the UConn loss was the same. Losing 35-30 is a...

Re: Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
^ Good comparison. I definitely remember those types of statements as well, and it turns out they were accurate. As a senior, Fernandes was a known quantity at that point. It seems silly to think that Curry would do something like that at this point of his sophomore season, but he put on a pretty go...

Re: Game 9, 2024-25: Central CT (12/4)
No offense taken. Frank's recent pressers have bemoaned the mindset of this group. We currently stink and something needs to change. If it's pretending that we're an underdog to CCSU at home to give our guys some kind of an edge, then so be it.

Re: Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
I don't know, am I reading too much into this? In the postgame presser, it almost sounds like Frank Martin thinks Jaylen Curry is faking an injury, or isn't tough enough to deal with whatever discomfort or pain he has in his leg. That portion starts at around 8:45. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs...

Re: Game 9, 2024-25: Central CT (12/4)
We're 229 in the NET and CCSU is 204. Let's take on that underdog mentality.

Re: 2024-25 Season
In case you needed any more reminders that this UMass team has been awful to start the season, the first NCAA Net rankings are out and we came in at 229. Absolutely putrid. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings Upcoming OOC opponents: CCSU: 204 U-Lowell: 2...

Re: Game 8, 2024-25: NJIT (12/1)
A win is a win. I loved the first half, a lot of attacking the rim. The second half wasn't as pretty, but DHS being out probably contributed. I think the announced attendance was just over 2,000, which I think was probably close to accurate. Moving on to CCSU, hopefully DHS and Akil Watson are good ...

Re: 2024-25 Season
Today starts a week with 3 opportunities to get home wins: NJIT today, CCSU Wednesday, and UMass Lowell on Saturday. These guys need to come out focused and not play down to the opponent (although as much as it pains me to write it, Lowell is probably an equal opponent). Get back to .500 this week, ...

Re: The Midnight Ride Collective - Content and Coverage
I just came across this exchange. I thought the question posed was legit and respectfully asked. Damn, the MRC guy is touchy. @militiaman247: "Hi @lifeofschneids , can you set the record straight, did Bamford/UMass shut the MRC down so they can take it all in house or did it fold for other reas...

Re: 2024 Game 12: UConn
In the Daily Hampshire Gazette preview article, they end with "UConn is currently a 10.5-point favorite and has an 82 percent chance to win according to ESPNBet". Hopefully they come out with that fire that got them going against Liberty and Georgia. And let's not forget, it's senior day. ...
