Was he hurt last year? He only played in 3 games for a total of 5 minutes.

Re: Coach Frank Martin

^ You are correct. His paper is very low on the newspaper circulation list. The Berkshire Eagle, another small town Western Mass paper which gives us good coverage, dwarfs them. The score is 16,057 to 7,815.

Re: 2022 Recruiting

Williams played with old friend Samba Diallo for 2 years at Manhattan. Not sure if it helps or hurts in our recruiting efforts. I would be fine if we landed Simmons and Williams. They would provide depth and Simmons is similar to many of the transfers that Frank has brought in. Simmons was highly ra...

Re: Minutemen in the NHL

It's AHL, not NHL but a shout out for Matt Kessel. Springfield is in the Calder Cup Finals against Chicago. This was game 1 on the road. Mark Divver @MarkDivver · 5m First pro goal for Matt Kessel (UMass) lifts Springfield to 5-4 OT win over Chicago in Game 1 of Calder Cup finals. T-Birds rallied fr...

Here's his shorthanded goal. Saw this a few times when he was here:

Re: 2024 Recruiting

I'm glad to see us reaching up for some high level 2024 recruits. If we start winning we may land some of them. I'm more concerned about the lack of noise regarding the 3 open spots for this year. No news or even speculation for quite a while now.

Re: 2023 Recruiting

^ Roberts was offered by the old staff in July, 2021. I don't know if the new staff has reached out to him or to any other players offered by the old staff.

Re: 2022 Recruiting

Saw on Twitter that we’ve reached out to some kid named Remington Rofer out of Los Angeles who I think prepped at Scotland Campus last year a post grad. 6-7 supposed to be a good shooter, ok athlete. Looks like he’s gotten interest from a variety of schools at a variety of levels. I don’t think you...

Re: 2022 Recruiting

Has anyone heard anything about Javohn? He was the first to enter the portal and I'm surprised he hasn't found a home. I still hold out hope that he comes back as I think he would do well in Frank's system.

Re: Coach Frank Martin

Of all of the things to worry about regarding the BB team (filling 2 or 3 slots, how will the new guys perform, etc.) Frank leaving in 4 or 5 years is pretty near the bottom of my list.

I'll give my glass half full take on this. Since he is coming in a a PWO, Frank must still be in search of at least 2 scholarship players.

Re: 2022 Recruiting

Buttrick and Cross are even in scoring and rebounding with Cross the edge in defense Jones and Woodley are even in all 3. It's hilarious that you've found a way to make the duo of Cross & Woodley only marginally better than Buttrick & Jones. Buttrick & Jones were nearly invisible at the...

Re: 2023 Recruiting

Some news on Bahati. She would be a good get for Verdi. She averaged 13.1 points, 8.5 boards and 5.8 blocks for the State Champion Central team. She was their leading scorer at 13.1, but they are a very balanced team so I'm not thrown by that number. https://www.masslive.com/highschoolsports/2022/06...

Re: Makar in NHL

Right now I would put him in a class with Ray Bourque. Having watched #4 for the Bruins I have a hard time putting anyone else at that level. However, if Cale keeps this up we might start calling him Mak-Orr. :D

Re: 2022 Recruiting

69, if you think Matt Cross and Trent Buttrick are basically even, you are in for a very pleasant "surprise" this season. I will be very happy if Matt goes for more than 10.7 points and 6.4 rebounds. His production plus what I hope for from Leveque will help offset the loss of Rich's scor...
