Re: 2024-25 Season

Can the women bounce back as the men did? Duquesne is good and it's at their place. This would be a big win, for morale and for their spot in the standings. They absolutely have to find a way to clamps down on Duquesne's 5'7 guard, McConnell, who leads them in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals. ...

Re: Game 25, 2024-25: Davidson (2/12)

I'm a little concerned about the matchup with Davidson. Bailey is very good, averaging 22.7 in A10 play. He's 6'10, 230 and a good shooter. Most of his shots are interior, but he's 7/15 from 3 and around 80% from the line. He's also averaging 4.5 assists per game so the offense runs through him. He ...

Re: Game 24, 2024-25: at La Salle (2/9)

^ Funny you said that. I do plan to watch the second half again. One thing I forgot to mention. I think with about 2 or 3 minutes left in the game, Rivera grabbed a rebound and was flying up the court. Frank screamed "Time Out" to the ref. So the players and Frank all learned from the SLU ...

Re: Game 24, 2024-25: at La Salle (2/9)

Just got through watching a replay of the game. Was at a Super Bowl Pre-Game party so I missed it, no TV or radio. Obviously, Sool was the story of the game, with DHS also a key contributor. but a few other performances caught my eye. 1. What got into Shahid today? In the second half he looked like ...

Re: Game 24, 2024-25: at La Salle (2/9)

This is the type of comment I love to see. It's from a guy who covers the 2 Philly schools for A10 talk:

UMass applies physical, relentless pressure making you work for every shot so the Explorers have an uphill battle.

Re: 2024-2025 Season

Heck of a schedule going forward:

Home and home with BC
Home and home with UNH
Home and home with Lowell
2 at home with Maine

Our fate is in our hands, but no slouches in this list. I'm guessing we need 5-3 to make the NCAA and it might not matter who we beat.

Re: Students

My hope, and yes I am being vindictive, is that all this negative publicity costs the promotions company/insurance company many multiples of $10,000 in lost future business.

Re: Game 24, 2024-25: at La Salle (2/9)

A hypothetical. If we beat La Salle tomorrow, do you think we can go 4-3 the rest of the way? The schedule isn't a back breaker. No games are easy, but I only see 2 really hard ones, @ VCU and @ SBU.

Re: 2024-2025 Season

UConn just beat Lowell in OT. We are 1-1 with a shootout win as well vs. UConn. We haven't played Lowell yet and have 2 games with them. I wish I knew now today's result affects Pairwise, but probably not much.

Re: 2024-25 Season

Probably their worst game of the year. They lost by 30 to Richmond in early January, but Richmond is one of the best teams in the league. They need to throw away the video of this game and get ready to win one at Duquesne. I didn't see the game, but Davidson has a lot of size and maybe that affected...

Re: Game 23, 2024-25: SLU (2/4)

^ It was stupid and sloppy, yes. But you are letting the end of the game cloud your judgement. We were outplayed for the first 6 minutes of the game. After that, until the final minute, we either outplayed them or it was even. Not a poor effort from most. Dumb plays yes, but the effort was there. An...

Re: 2024-2025 Season

We are now 15th in Pairwise. Very fluid depending on what else happens not just in Hockey East. A split with BC would probably jump us a spot or 2.

This should have been done yesterday, but better late than never. Ryan Bamford @UMassADBamford · 1h For all those wondering, we’re working on getting $10K to Noah. If we can’t get to a good result via the insurance company, we will pay him directly. We appreciate his support of @UMassAthletics &...

Re: 2024-25 Season

Next 2 are home to Davidson, a mediocre team and @ Duquesne, a pretty good team. A split leaves us at 9-5, pretty darn good. Then we play GMU, possibly the best team in the league, but the last 3 are all winnable: Loyola URI at home after we lost a tough one to them on the road GW Nothong is guarant...
