Re: Women's Hockey

There has been a ton of discussion and in the end it always comes down to money. By know we all know the answer when money is involved.

Re: KAEO Josh Cohen

It's not just Josh. Jayden got yelled at (that doesn't happen very often) and said something like, "yeah I realize that now". This team is full of guys that play extremely hard and accept coaching, even if means getting screamed at. I can't 100% say everyone is totally on board with gettin...

Re: How former UMass players have fared after entering the portal

Here is some info on other noteworthy transfers from the last few years. I left out Mitchell, Luis, Gapare and Weeks as they have been covered recently. Stats are per game and rounded: Tre Wood - George Mason - 7 minutes, 1 point Noah - Rutgers - 27 minutes, 8 points, 2.4 assists, 33% from 3 Sy Chat...

Re: Game 5, 2023-24: South Florida (12/2)

Here's the quote from The Gazette about the DHS illness. I hope it's minor and he's ready for Towson. If not, we need him for Lowell and WVa. Due to Cross’ foul trouble, and the fact that forward Daniel Hankins-Sanford played only three minutes due to an illness , Cohen had to take on a bigger role....

Re: Around the A10, 2023-2024

Yesterday was a good day for the A10. St. Joes over Temple was the headliner, but 9 wins, 2 losses is a good day.

Re: Game 5, 2023-24: South Florida (12/2)

I don't have much to add. It was a tough game to watch, but it's good to win an ugly one. I heard that DHS banged his knee in the first half. Don't know how reliable the info is, but I hope it's minor. We need him to play like he did in Puerto Rico. Most of the time he was the second-best player on ...

Re: How former UMass players have fared after entering the portal

RJ now out until at least late December with some kind of shin injury. He's only played in 1 game this year. On another note, there's an issue with Gapare at Georgia Tech but no details so far. Gapare has missed the previous two games due to an undefined issue, and it is unknown if he will take on ...

Re: 2023-24 Season

We loose , final score is 70 - 62. The 2 players that played their first game for Umass looked like they will be good players for UMass. Berky, we only had 1 new player tonight, Chinenye Odenigbo, the 6'5 player from Boston. Mapp was back after missing the last 2 games. She's 6'0 so she also gives ...

^ You should know better than to think like that. This is when a team shooting 24.5% from 3 comes in and hits 45%. I think they'll beat us by double digits. Maybe that offsets your jinx.

Re: 2023-24 Season

I just checked the schedule. We play at 1-6 Yale tomorrow. Yale isn't very good (I know, we aren't either). Their only win was over a 2-4 Marist team and Yale only scores around 60 points per game. We probably won't be favored, but this is our best shot at a win in a while.

Re: Conference Realignment

^ That's probably true for some of them, but I think Swamy had the best interests of the school as a priority and academically he left it in a better place. Athletics is a different story and it still falls on the State Legislature to increase funding. I know Swamy supported athletics, but I wonder ...

Re: Game 5, 2023-24: South Florida (12/2)

On the ESPN predictor, Hofstra is a 10.9 point favorite. I can't figure out if ESPN thinks Hofstra is that good (they lost to GW and Princeton and they have beaten High Point, Buffalo (1-6) and Wright State (3-4). Or if they think USF stinks (they did lose to Maine by 11 at home). We're only 5.8 poi...

Adding to what Old Cage said. Zeke, you have no idea how much support Ed has given the athletic department and basketball in particular. Yes, some of his signs and puns are corny, but he gets a huge pass in my book.
