Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell

So if you were holding on to tiny shreds of hope that Tre might change his mind and come back, there's one less shred.

Re: 2021-2022 Season

The A-10 / Mountain West series won't happen in 2021-22, per Rothstein.

His wording makes it seem like it's not entirely dead, but it got postponed in 20-21, now again in 21-22. Wondering if the two leagues will try again for 22-23.

Re: Ray Wilson

Folks, to be clear, Ray passed away in 2015. This thread went inactive for some time, until yesterday's Collegian article. Looks like a few people might be misunderstanding that he passed away recently.

No biggie, just pointing it out.

Re: Time for a Dr. J Statue?

This topic came up again today on Twitter. I tagged Bamford and asked if it could happen if the funds were raised, and he said yes. https://twitter.com/UMassADBamford/status/1389684732200374273 Maybe that's not new news. Apologies if we already knew that. The door is open, but as is with many things...

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman

Wondering why we haven't seen UM officially announce Steadman as yet. They've said something about Buttrick and the Kellys.

Or, just file this under: offseason needs something to talk about.

Re: Support the Basketball Team

This thread took a turn for the worse. I deleted some stuff in the spirit of getting us back on the right track, because this all started from a good place.

Yeah, I thought the same when I posted. People are gonna see this near the top of the list and think he went into the portal :D

Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks

Updating TJ's page, and just noticed his scoring this season... In wins, 8.4 ppg In losses, 11.3 ppg Unfortunately he had his season high (16) in the Davidson loss. He also had four 14-point games, three of which were Ls. Contributing to those numbers in wins was when he tweaked his knee in the home...

Re: KAEO: Sy Chatman

More transfer portal weirdness... Sy put his name in on March 18th. Verbal Commits reported he had an McNeese State. Yesterday, Sy said he was going to stay at Illinois State. https://twitter.com/Sy_Chatman1/status/1386499806886076426 Maybe the lack of better options convinced him to stay. Only he k...

^ Burning bridges for the sake of burning bridges is going to end his college coaching career. More likely he's using them to get himself an angle at a better job. And I intentionally say using them.

I think you answered it when you said 1 year.

A new coach brought Tony onto his staff that season, I'm guessing Tony hated it out there, and came back east.

Re: Barbee coaching

Brought this legacy thread back to life, and changed the title. Tony is a head coach again. Announced at Central Michigan today: https://cmuchippewas.com/news/2021/4/23/cmu-announces-tony-barbee-as-new-mens-basketball-head-coach.aspx Tony replaces Keno Davis, who was dropped earlier this month after...
