Re: 2021 Schedule

I presume he had candidates in the pipeline and needed to free up scholarship money, although Ice hockey has 18 full rides, MLax has 12.6.

I'd love to see Isabella get a tryout with Pats, if/when released.

Re: 2021 Schedule

Sometimes 'less is more' and the roster was huge and overloaded with Sr's/grad students. Add in COVID disruptions including lack of games and practices, a mess. There was also too much 'hero ball' where folks like Trainor tried to go through 3 or even 4 guys. As well, too little patience on O where ...

Re: D1 to D3

UNH is the most expensive state university to attend for in-state students and is also the worst supported by the state legislature.

The fees are terrible. And are that high as the tuition is a very political number to raise each year.

Re: D1 to D3

The problem of finances is ESPECIALLY acute for the smaller second to fourth-tier schools in the Northeast. Many tier 1 national colleges are already in D3 - MIT, Tufts, WPI among them locally. And they get attendance at their scale. D1 prestige colleges are also pulling back on athletics spending -...

Re: 2021 Schedule

We lose 8 to 13. A very disappointing season with too much COVID interference and stops/starts.

It'll be interesting to see how we reload for 2022.

Re: 2021 Schedule

UMass down 6 to 7 - we have had a lot of turnovers and lack patience on offense. We need to pull the ball back and work it around if the fast break is not there

Re: Ray Wilson

Really great topic and posts. I started Umass in Fall of 1972 and went to almost all games at cage in my 4 years. Placed rocked and patched even when playing Maine or Vermont. I think, at that time Jack, Ray, and Fan Gaudette were the coaches. Had great respect for all of them. I actually started o...

Re: UMass-NFL news

Some details: Larnel Coleman, OT, UMass: The 6-foot-7, 307-pound Malden native and former St. Clement catalyst told the Globe before the Draft that he’s always viewed himself as an underdog. “That’s always been how I’ve looked at myself,” Coleman said. “It always keeps me humble, keeps me hungry, an...
