Re: 2023-24 Season

I went through the UMass site, and while the tickets themselves were not that expensive, the total purchase becomes so after paying the legalized thievery known as Ticketmaster fees.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Cohen participated in Senior Day, just Cross and Marcus. Senior Day has become kind of an anachronism these days, huh?

The A10 is putting on a great show. Almost all of these games have been very good.

Re: A10 Standing/Seeding Changes Discussion

1 and 2 are quite possible. Can't see Bona losing to GW and SLU. Let's just take care of business against Fordham and hopefully get the 5.

Re: Festivus Holiday Post: Airing of Grievances About the Mullins Center (aka The Bill)

The trophies are on display upstairs in the Hall of Fame area next to the athletic offices and the reception room overlooking the arena. This area is open to the public, although I think they restrict access before and during games to members of the booster clubs. If I had to guess, I'd say they thi...

Re: KAEO Reggie (RJ) Luis

I was there. Pitino went to the foul line with the deer-in-the-headlights look. When Stacom got the rebound, his eye was on the basket all the way up the floor as if he knew he was going to hit the winning shot. What a difference.

Re: Game 24, 2023-24: at Richmond (2/14)

Back in the 80's, I flew with the football team from Barnes to Richmond. The runway was plenty long for a 737.

Re: The Massachusetts Collective - NIL initiative

This is not a court ruling, it's a National Labor Relations Board ruling. Big difference. Like everything else regarding NIL, the NCAA's governance model, etc., it will wind up in the courts. Also, unions are anathema in the South. You think the SEC schools would go for this?

Re: Conference Realignment

Do any of you older fans remember that in the pre-Mullins days of the late 70s and early 80s, there was actually talk of building a dome over the stadium and using it for basketball? Thank God that didn't go anywhere.

Re: McGuirk Upgrade

Nobody was sitting in those bleachers because they were behind the team benches and you couldn't see the field. Also, lowering the field is probably not a good option because, as we know, the water table is very high there. That's why they had to install artificial turf.

Re: 2024 Season

Yikes, 3 SEC and 5 MAC teams, including the two best in that league (who we also played this year). Relatively speaking we actually played a fairly tough schedule this year. For what it's worth, according to the Athletic's final regular season rankings of all 133 FBS teams (UMass is 123 so we stayed...

Harvard lost a lot of players, but they still have arguably the Ivy League's best coach. Better be ready when you play Tommy Amaker.

A useful performance against an overmatched team. I like that they have almost a week to work on stuff Frank will undoubtedly see in the video.
