DK does not have the expectations today that Bruiser had when he took over. People expected Bruiser to maintain Cal's success. Which was clearly unrealistic. Add the Camby issue and the situation was a mess.

Bruiser had a 52-28 A-10 record. His overall record was 86-72 at Umass. But, that included ...

I was impressed. In fact, very pleased. I will be making my season ticket deposit ASAP! On the attendance issue under Ford, there is no mystery. #1. People I know just didn't buy into his act around here. Even as the team advanced in the NIT, all I kept hearing was "Ford will be gone soon". Folks ...

I would love to take that stuff from the EKU break up and combine it with the Umass "I'm 100% committed" stuff, create flyer and mass mail it to OK next fall, LOL

Pretty exciting, I must admit. The only thing that has bothered me at all today was some comments on this board that DK is generally not a very bright & pretty goofy individual. Anyone have any recent video or interviews from DK? I don't remember his personality at all. I keep envisioning something ...

Didn't I read on the forum somewhere that Cal once told Bru to plan on getting out due to the lack of support at Umass?

Not to be a joy kill, but the two biggest questions will be:

1) Can he maintain the uptempo style that teh players, recruits, students and he admin loves. He never really learned tht style with Cal.

2) Can he handle all tha goes with being a head coach. Their are awesome recruiters, teachers ...

Congrats to DK. Based on the other names being mentioned, DK appears to be the correct choice. I am a little uneasy about it, but will support him 100%. I hope the comments about him not being the sharpest knife in the drawer are not true. He get a chance to prove himself at the head coach level ...

All I know is I'm not crazy about the idea of hiring Patrick Sellers. I have nothing against him as a person, or even as a coach really, but the fact that his connection to UMass was as an assistant coach during the Lappas years gives me bad vibes.

Add to the fact that he got passed over for ...

Derek Kellogg, Tim O'Shea, UConn assistant (and former UMass assistant) Patrick Sellers, and Tim Maloney.

Oh Boy. Based on this news, we better hope it is DK. 3 out of the 4 mentioned above would be poor hires I think. O'Shea does not impress me at all, and apparently that is shared by lots of ...

Uconn should be on our schedule every year. Probably at the Hartford Civic Center. I really don't care about the home and home stuff now. We have to play some out of conference games anyway. Why not one against a national power, where many of us in Western, MA can attend. I would love to see Duke ...

Out of curiosity, how long do you guys think this process is going to take. Is it reasonable to expect a decision this week?

I think that the way Ford's departure happened sucked all the energy out of the NIT run. I don't think we have a lot to lose with this decision. I would prefer a coach with some head coaching experience. No matter who we hire, I see a 2-3 year rebuilding situation while the new coach builds the ...

McCaffery is an interesting choice. When I look at his resume, it appears he would have been a more solid choice for OK than Travis Ford.
