Re: Game 10, 2025: Northern Illinois (11/12)
If UMass is smart, they rightsize their athletic department, eliminate football, and focus on fundraising for basketball and hockey. Get back in the Atlantic 10. Pledge to spend 6 million per year on basketball NIL and 1 million on hockey NIL.

Re: Game 8, 2025: @ Central Michigan (10/25)
At this point it’s obvious this is an unserious FBS program. They are going to go 0-12. And they will stay winless until they decide they want to be serious at this level. Last FBS win 2023. Last home FBS win 2021. Last B2B wins in the FBS 2018. Last winning season 2010. Last postseason was in 2007 ...

Re: Game 7, 2025: Buffalo (10/18)
UMass football may be irreversibly broken. This goes beyond lack of funding, infrastructure and being in the MAC. The central cause of the decline of UMass Athletics has been Ryan Bamford. At any other school he would have been long gone. We are two games away from his 100th LOSS in FBS football as ...

Re: Priorities
After today's stunning but not shocking loss, I have come to the sullen conclusion that UMass Football may be irreversibly damaged. While some of the priorities listed here are great and legitimate, none of it matters until Ryan Bamford has been removed as AD. He is the constant variable to the ...

Re: Game 6, 2025: @ Kent State (10/11)
We are worse than 136. We are worse than most of the FCS. This program is irreversibly broken and wrecked. UMass may not win a game again for years to come.

Re: Game 3, 2025: at Iowa (9/13)
I’m convinced that UMass Football is irreversibly wrecked. It took 15 years but they destroyed it. It’s not coming back. Until you have a new AD, new Chancellor and new system President, there’s no chance. UMass as a whole needs outsiders who are serious and serious about being a flagship that ...

Re: Game 10: Maine at home Nov 13 noon
Looks like we are heading towards a massive rebuild. We have very few FBS caliber players, and depending on the next coach there will be turnover. Whoever comes in should just load up on JUCOs and transfers.

Re: Game 10: Maine at home Nov 13 noon
This is not a good team at all. We lack depth because we are always injured and we have maybe a handful of FBS caliber players.

Re: Game 10: Maine at home Nov 13 noon
I'm beside myself, this looks like a real team. Olson is making changes at the line. Guys are getting of their blocks. Defense is tackling. Except for that penalty which stinks but we still make a long field goal. We actually look like a UMass team again.

Re: New UMass Football Coach 2021
I'm still really big on Bob Chesney or Joe Harasymiak. Both have HC experience and have been successful in New England. I think Don Brown could be really impactful as Director of Football ops or assistant AD. He could be the elder statemen behind the scenes.

Not so fast with WKU and MTSU going to the MAC. Latest skuttle butt is WKU is all in but MTSU may not be so. And that MAC may not take WKU unless MTSU is also coming. Conference realignment is so much fun.

Re: New UMass Football Coach 2021
To me the only picks are Chesney or Harasymiak. They MUST have HC experience, history building a program and know this part of the country real well. Hence the two I listed above. No coordinators need apply. This is a huge hire that will make or break the program.

Re: FIRE WALT BELL!
It's Sunday morning and Bell is still employed at UMass. I have a bigger question to ask besides who should coach next....what the hell does the admin want to be? Our overall athletic budget is close to App State and Coastal Carolina. They have been to bowls and we have been perpetually bad for 10 ...
