Alcohol

Wichita State Fans Spent More Than $300,000 on Alcohol
Wichita State is coming off its most profitable (by far) men’s basketball season in terms of alcohol sales at Koch Arena, as Shockers fans spent $303,591 on beer, wine and mixed drinks at home games this past season.
That number is up nearly $100,000 from Wichita State’s experimental first run selling alcoholic beverages in 2017-18. Much has changed since then.
Wichita State’s gross sales more than quadrupled the amount that Kansas State ($67,866) totaled and more than tripled the amount that Missouri ($79,803) totaled while debuting beer and wine at basketball games this year.

Majority of the students are under 21 so I really don’t see an issue of entertaining alcohol to the Mullins Center.

It took UMass way too long to finally get alcohol sales at the Mullins and McGuirk. Hopefully it continues.

Not trying to be snarky, but there aren't enough students at the games to make a difference. Hopefully that changes in the future.

They charged way too much for beer IMO.

All sports venues charge too much for alcohol, be it at BU hockey or Celtics games.

What I do object to is crappy stadium food at exorbitant prices.

In the end, UMass sports are very reasonably priced, but as things loosen up I hope that the food choices improve. Too much salt and fat.

The department does a respectable job to to engage fans and improve fan relations, but they miss the mark badly on this one. For a university that loves to tout their #1 Dining Service, you couldn’t tell from the concessions at Mullins. Dining Services is responsible for concessions, including stale over-salted popcorn, flat soda, sad-looking cold hamburgers, cold greasy fries, etc. These are easy things to fix, but it seems they don’t wish to do so. I know there are a handful of good concessions at Mullins, but those are few and far between. Athletics and Dining Services need to sit down and figure out how to fix this, because it is a bad look.

Other than the freshly scooped ice cream at the Bill, for the most part the food there sucks.

The fact that they're not equipped to prepare things like burgers and fries on prem, ensures that we get heat-lamp dried out burgers and fries that are not crispy or hot. The salads and some pre-made sandwiches are oK, but those booths are not always open.

LOTS or room for improvement.

Open up a north shore style roast beef sandwich stall and you’d be looking at a gold mine. Every kid originally from Revere to Methuen would be lined up to get their roast beef fix you can’t get in Western MA.

That could be a seriously good idea. As a #flagship school for Massachusetts, shouldn’t the concessions reflect the food tastes across the state? Concession stands could be themed and/or offer regional foods.

The only kinda regional thing I've seen the Mullins Center do is the "lobstah mac n' cheese". Which I have not had.
