I think because we are young and missing a few guys our press and rotations won't be there.. NE will take advantage of the easy buckets and I think they win pretty easily. If we win or even bring it down to the end then this team might be a lot better than we thought.

I know that I'm way oversimplifying this, but stop Roland and you have a great chance to beat Northeastern. They have scored 156 points in 2 games and Roland has 81. He's 6'1 and quick. This might be the best matchup that Keon has had so far and Buggs also has the speed to at least bother Roland. Since we don't depend on either guy for scoring, let them wear Roland down and if they pick up a few fouls it's OK. I would not let Carl, TJ or East defend him. Let them concentrate on offense and stay out of foul trouble.

As I said, an oversimplification.

* I think throwing a much bigger Diallo on him could be interesting as well.

Diallo is not quick enough. Santos might be interesting.

I think northeastern will overplay East to his left, forcing him to go right. That will be interesting, too.

I'm predicting a close game that we win by 2. Just have a feeling. Carl and TJ both get hot and we play our best game yet. Yeah baby!

I definitely do expect our best game yet. McCall is gonna make clear to them that this opponent is superior to the previous two, and they're gonna have to give it their best for 40 minutes to get the win. He just needs to show them Northeastern's stats, their record from last year and what they've done this year.

What makes you think Diallo isn't quick enough, have you seen Roland play? Roland isn't all that quick, but he does have an odd looking and very high release on his jump shot.

You need Diallo on either Walters or Brace. Santos off the bench is an option, depending upon who else is on the court but Keon and Buggs ought to be reasonable choices for Roland.

Knowing very little on this Roland kid I would like to think that he is due to come back down to earth here. he had pretty good numbers last year but he’s put up insane numbers in these first two games in both volume and efficiency. And they’ve needed all of that to get wins in both games. We’ve got bodies — Keon, Samba, Santos, Buggs to throw at him so find which ones work the best and go with it. I would say it’s the old “make other players beat you” thing but I don’t want to go overboard because the kid has had an unbelievable two game stretch. Keeping him off the line would be a good start.

Interested to see the two freshman point guards play — the Walker kid for NU was pretty well regarded coming out of New Hampton and has had a good start. He might give East fits — if that happens I think we might see Buggs get some run on him — we will see.

At any rate, Coen is a good coach and Northeastern seems like a pretty good team. They aren’t Phi Slamma Jamma out there but we will have to be better than we were against Fairfield to win.

You do not. Walters & Brace are bit players for NE on offense, if Samba is the best person to defend Roland, that's where he should be. Now, mind you, UMass will probably do a lot of switching, so it will have to be a full team effort.

Interesting to note, it seems that Roland rarely looks to pass the ball, he's never once had more than 4 assists in a collegiate game, despite playing 30 minutes a game last year.

What’s happening with CJ Jackson? I don’t remember seeing him play yet, has he been hurt? Seems like he was tearing it up on the Virgin Island trip

Doubling him at times sounds like a good idea as well.

I gotta agree about Samba. He's quicker than people give him credit for, a good athlete, and is a strong kid. He could be an option. But I agree with whoever said several guys wearing him down is a good option as well. Keon is a tough defender too
