New Hampton School trio of Mika Adams-Woods, Dyondre Dominguez & Kerem Ozturk will be on an unofficial visit to UMass tonight for their game vs St. Joe's
Adams-Woods is 2019, the other 2 are 2020. Let's put on a show for them tonight.

Perhaps Someone to keep tabs on for 2020. He's from Chattanooga and I know a certain coach who may have connections there.

Is Buggs a PG? Seems like we're set at that position the next few seasons, with Wood, Buggs, and Clergeot as a backup. Definitely need a low post presence in the next few years. Chatman seems like he'll be a solid player and Thomas looks promising (most recruits do), but if we assume KTM is on his way out, I think we want some beef, even if it's coming off the bench, to add a little nasty to the team downlow.

^ Not 100% sure, but I think Buggs is a combo guard, he can play both PG and off the ball.

I suspect UMass will look to add a big man in 2020, beyond that it's tough to say their plans for 2020.

I think we're good with the combo guards, we should definitely focus on a big man next.

Would probably want to add length on the wing in 2020, no? Specifically a Laurent type that can play (defend) the 4. We've got 2 guards (Santos will play the 3) and a big in 2019 and losing Cobb, Pip (if not after 18) and Laurent after next season would think we'd want some depth considering Carl and Hayward will be seniors and Samba a Junior in 2020. I would prioritize this position - a Laurent/Diallo type and then a true big man after that.

Do any of the people with inside info on this forum have any idea if Matt Cross is giving UMass some serious consideration? He’s going to be linked to us regardless with the Bergeron/Woodstock connection plus he’s from in-state. Seems like he’ll have his pick of school. He could be a true program changing player.

I don’t have any inside info. I just know what I read and what I’ve read is that Cross is getting a lot of attention. Indiana and South Carolina seem to be quite interested in him. I think he’ll be tough to get but maybe he wants to stay local and maybe Bergeron is his Pied Piper.

Knock on wood we won’t have too many holes to fill so can dedicate time and resources to a smaller group of potential kids like Cross. I do think we will probably need another big.

Yes, it's tough competing with those schools but hopefully we have all the intangibles and I think a lot might depend on how we play next year. If Matt sees his buddies having a great time, winning games maybe he will come up for a game or two and really love the program and atmosphere.

We certainly have a better shot in this situation than a typical 4 star. I really think we are on the right track with this incoming group, I'm just getting that feeling. The great thing about basketball is you only need 2-3 impact guys to turn the entire thing around (and a coach that can get the most out of them). If this class turns out great and then we add a Matt Cross, maybe one other guy, we could be on our way to exciting things in short order.

I'm officially set up now for disappointment since I've allowed my optimism to emerge again :)

^ It will be a character flaw for Cross if he falls in love with the atmosphere at the Mullins next season. There are a billion reasons why next season needs to be a strong one and the 2020 recruiting class is just one of them.

I didn't mean the atmosphere at the Mullins itself, the atmosphere/vibe of the team and chemistry. I expect the Mullins to be pretty dead until we start winning consistently again.

Big 2019 UMass target at wing will reclassify to 2020 and remain at Woodstock Academy. DeGray will be at the top of the #Minutemen's board along with other schools after he takes his PG year in CT and remain one to watch
Love to see us go back to Woodstock next year and get DeGray and Cross but they both may get P5 offers.

How nice would that be. Just need to show some solid improvement next year to stabilize things so these highly rated kids want to come here. Imagine those 2 coming in together, be a class like Dingle and Bright
