Site clock off by an hour.

A small nit that only an anal-retentive type like moi would notice is that is says at the bottom of pages "all times GMT'. It's not, it's not even EDT, looks like EST to me.

Yeah, the Daylight Savings change threw it off. It'll be right again come October, unless JJ can figure a fix for me.

No..... they're "GMT" - minus whatever modifier you've set in your profile. For me, I've set it as minus four to correspond with EDT. Then once we set the clocks back, we'll have to fart around with it again.

Server clocks run on GMT (a rather unfortunate fact), and the time changes are always a pain in the ass. GMT remains constant, and never changes all year long. Sooo, the easiest solution is to change the modifier that exists in your profile twice a year.

This board software, while great, only allows for modifications to GMT, as opposed to listing things concurrent with your particular time zone. UBB was able to show EST, Pacific time, etc, but was a huge bandwidth hog.

(Btw- I started writing this as a response to bdance even before Mike posted)

Thanks, found it! There's gotta be a way to use this feature to fake out my boss so I can leave a couple of hours early...

Since the clocks changed this weekend, the times you see may be off. Here's all you need to do:

Click "Profile" to change your personal settings.
During winter / standard time: set the time to GMT - 5
During summer / daylight savings time: set the time to GMT - 4

That's of course assuming you're in the Eastern zone. Adjust appropriately for your own zone.

It's daylight savings time. Change the setting in your Profile the post time really bothers you. See my previous post.

In Mike's house, there's the biannual changing of the clocks... and the biannual reminder about the site clock on UMassHoops.
