Keep Tre out of foul trouble and make double digit threes and we have a chance.
Re: Game 15, 2020-21: St. Louis (A10 Rd3)
We got our arses kicked pretty good by them so it should be still fresh. They were laughing us up a bit too, so I see a close game coming that we pull out for a little revenge
Guess as to the early line?

The two factors of getting blown out by them earlier this week, and then blowing out St Joes so guys should be rested seem to be factors working in our favor. SLU won't have such an easy time with us tomorrow, but they're still a damn good team so I don't know if it's enough to get us over the hump. It's clear that these dudes are hungry and haven't given up on the season though. Should be a fun one.

Ronnie went from 0 vs SLU last Monday to be the leading scorer today. Need those early 3s by guys like him. Keep the ball moving and keep up defensive intensity

1 pm start on NBC Sports? Looks like I'm working from home in the afternoon Let's go!
Re: Game 15, 2020-21: St. Louis (A10 Rd3)
The difference today (other than the obvious miraculous shooting) was aggressiveness. We went after every rebound and loose ball and mostly did it without fouling. We were somewhat passive against SLU and they ended up pushing us around.

I took a half day. Hockey is on at 2:30 too. Victory in Worcester for me!

I agree and will add 2 things to that: I really got the feel that these kids were really pumped up to play in front of their families. Most seem to come from close families that take a great interest in their son’s career...really think Ronnie’s start, and overall play, had a lot to do with that.
Also, St Joe’s offered little resistance on d and shot quickly on offense which is exactly what not to do when the other team is hot.

Just having a different officiating crew and a neutral court will help. That game at SLU was complete horse shit. Those two factors along with playing great today and having revenge motivation should make for a much better match up this time. AND, both Tre and Noah seem to have shaken any rust. Oh, anyone notice what a quiet but very good game Garcia had today? I think the Minutemen can take them. I really do.

^ I agree with everything. Javohn is a very good player, already. Fearless, talented, and team player. As he matures to know when to pick his spots and stay out of foul trouble, look out. As good a freshman pg as we've had in a while. Potential is crazy
I thought both RD3 and Noah were fantastic today and got us out of the gate in great shape and set the tone. Both have been better than I was expecting this season

I'm still on cloud 9, but here's a bit of a reality check. We missed our last 14 threes. A lot were taken by guys who don't normally make them, but we can't start this way tomorrow. Carl was 3/7 in the second half. Nobody else made any.
The streak of 14:
Carl - 2
DD - 2
Noah - 1
Tre - 2
Mark - 2
Cairo - 1
Dibaji - 2
Walk-ons - 2

Yes, but that means they were 15-24 when it counted. THAT is crazy. Obviously there is no way they get close to that tomorrow. I’d like to see us get to the line. We are top 5 nationally but hardly shot any today with all the 3s.69MG wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:33 pm I'm still on cloud 9, but here's a bit of a reality check. We missed our last 14 threes. We have to push the tempo. Their half court defense killed us on Monday. Get out and run.
Re: Game 15, 2020-21: St. Louis (A10 Rd3)
It's a tough matchup. SLU is bigger, more physical and more experienced than UMass. But our backcourt is faster and I think we'll be much more competitive this time if the guards can force the tempo and open up some space. DeGray really struggled against their bigs and hopefully he learned some things in four days.
