We beat them with another week of practice and the game in Amherst. Frustrating, but I think we have a shot at the A10. It is complete horse shit that the league is making us play at Richmond and SLU, but I think we can do it. The key is they don’t let to ight deflate them and can get back in a groove and play with confidence.
I’m really annoyed Richmond got the home game rather than what was originally schedule AND these fucking refs were ready to give every extra advantage on top of that.
SLU on Monday likely for a double bye is the biggest game in years. Tonight could have been much worse, we played hard and got it closer than I thought we would in the second.
I think we will be fine and I’m still very excited for next week.

I wish Walker was still playing. His D would have helped tonight.
we sure missed his D. Tre and Noah looked rusty, and one of those nights for Carl (3 of 13, 0 for 6 on 3s, 1 for 3 FTs) Dyondre becomes the 7th guy to lead the team in scoring this season. A different leading scorer in more than half the games. A few bad calls like that missed goaltending. But Richmond is good enough to win unless we're hitting on all cylinders.

I didn't expect us to win with a fully healthy Tre and Noah. No shot with both of them sub-par and the rest of the team rusty. We should be a much better team in a week. DD going for 15 was a pleasant surprise. Hope he keeps it up.

I really don’t think we can complain much about the scheduling. After playing St.Louis next week we still did not play St. Bonaventure, Dayton, or VCU.

If I'm Bamford I'm on the phone with any low level D1 team or even a D2 team willing to play Friday or Saturday. Richmond played a D3 school coming off pause and it was a great way to get their legs underneath them. Practicing and playing a game, regardless of the competition, is much different and I'd love to see them schedule a cupcake before the SLU game.

Not a bad effort. When we need to score we often dont. Down by 7 had some momentum if we made some shots. Tough game but got to play. Hoping for a solid effort against St Louis

We look like a team who hasn’t played in 17 days
As opposed to hockey who hadn’t played in 24 days, and is up 8-1 over Providence with less than 5 minutes to go.....

we didn't play St. Joe's or GW either. Of A10 teams, only Fordham is rated lower than those 2. I don't mind the St. Louis game scheduling, even though they caused both postponements and canceled their trip to Amherst kind of last minute when we were ready to play. I minded playing Richmond too soon after the covid pause and on the road, which shortened prep time even more. So only 1 complaint, and it pales compared with how much I hated not playing. And Richmond likely wins regardless of location. Of course, playing the tournament at home is quite a gift to Richmond. Also reasonable, but quite a gift.

Absolutely. They need more games both for their overall rhythm and just to add to the record. It is CRAZy that they’ve only had 12 games. 12. I mean, toss in a few extra and they might get a look at NIT if they don’t win the A10. Otherwise they will be an afterthought with so few games.

One coach values defense, the other one doesn’t know how to coach defense.

^ not a fan of this take. Be positive man. Call me an optimist but I think we can win the A10. I think it’s all going to come together at the right time.

I think we have the offense and the talent to win the A10.
But you have to look at the theme of our losses. It’s been a season long problem, multiplied by the injuries to two starters and then the break. I would give the team a break if they worked harder and didn’t give up so many open layups to a team who runs that offense. It’s similar to the Bryant game when we got destroyed by the 3 and fast paced offense. The NU loss was another one. We know what to expect from these offenses and can’t stop them.

Decent enough effort. Had a chance to complete the come back with about 7 minutes to go, but the wheels kind of came off.
Coming off the long layoff, Mitchell shaking off the rust coming off the injury, no help from the zebras. Giving up way too many layups, unless the plan is to encourage the opponents to not shoot 3s? As is so often the case, as Pierre goes, so go the Minutemen.
Plenty of talent on this team gives me decent hope for the future. I remain on the fence about McCall.

Very curious why most top teams in the league got 3 games this week and we only got 2, especially with them moving the Richmond game on us.

I'm serious...call AIC, WNEU, Woodstock Gold for crying out loud...I don' care if it counts towards our NCAA rank, we're not getting an at large bid, but we do have a chance to win the A-10....but not with only one more game and a handful of practices. We need to play an actual game against a team where we can control the tempo, run the plays we want to run and work on in game scenarios, thats why I say a low level team. just not the same as doing it in practice when everyone on the court knows what you are doing.
