yes, why? In my humble opinion if Fernandes is eligible we will definitely be competing for a top-four finish.

My bored self checked the stats for all of the players we lost. If the new guys are half as good as MM thinks they are we shouldn't have much trouble replacing their offense. We'll see how good they are on D as we lost a few good defenders. We need to replace 23 points and 13 boards. Since we have no idea on how many minutes any of the new guys might get it's hard to put a number on any particular player. The exception is Gasperini who will get Djery's 10-12 minutes. He's a bit more skilled offensively and maybe gets 4 or 5 points a game.

I can't imagine Garcia, Fernandes, McCrory, DeGray and Dominguez not getting 20 points between them. Add in TJ's production and we are way ahead of last year even assuming that the other returning players stay the same.

Games Minutes Points Shooting % 3 pt % Rebounds Assists/turnovers Blocks

East 31 28 9.3 40 32 2.5 153/83 n/a

Diallo 31 27 6.7 43 17 5.9 28/48 6

Clergeot 30 22 5.0 35 28 1.9 46/41 n/a

Baptiste 27 11 2.1 51 n/a 2.6 3/10 23

Neither Chatman or Jackson played enough to have meaningful stats. I'm surprised that Diallo only had 6 blocks. Santos had 16 and Walker had 10 in half a season. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to get the columns to align.

Worcester_To_Amherst wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2020 6:57 am Tony and Tre seem very tight so I don't know if I see Tre leaving for another school, especially if we have a really good season in 20-21. It's well known Tony wants to be the head coach here, and if Tre left for another school I think his chances would take a big hit.

Tre needs to do what's best for him either way, but unless the situation changes I don't think he's going anywhere but pro.
I know it's been posted here before so I don't feel like I'm gossiping here...it's been well documented that's Tony's girlfriend for years now is Tre's mom...so Tre isn't going anywhere but pro!
Tre is literally quarantining with Bergeron this talk of tre transfering is ridiculous stop having an inferiority complex.
Well aware and just responding to the other poster who suggested Tre could leave for a bigger school. I don’t think he’s leaving but it’s always going to be speculated on with the way college hoops is.

Unless of course, Tony moves on to another school. While he may have stated that he wants the UMass HC position, if another school makes the right offer... And if the transfer rule passes, what would stop Tre and Woodstock et al. from following?

I think Umass joins the Big 10 before they are Top-4 in the country again.
I did. Referring to Stevemaz' comment about seeing something similar to what Dayton did this year. Dayton was a legit National Title Contender. I love Umass, but thinking Umass will be at that level in 2-3 years is quarantine crazy.

I think he's talking about the conference.

Tre could have gone and played with the big boys before ever coming to UMass. He isnt transfering.

Tre's staying for 3 years. He'll then assess options. They've already said this. The staff's prioritizing a 4/5 for the 2021 class

Pierre, Mitchell, Weeks, Fernandez, Garcia, Gasperini, Santos, Walker, Dominguez, Degray - how do you have 10 players in your top 8?
Are you stupid? obviously either Fernandes or Garcia and either Dom/Degray will be in top 8..

Who said we will be legit national title contender. I do however think the team could run the table or come close to it in the A10 and also do very well in non conf play, hence similar to what Dayton did this past year

top four in A10 is what I think and frankly it will be a disappointing season if this doesn't happen (with the injury caveat obviously).

Wow, ok, you don't have to be an A-hole about it. But thanks for the response that again doesn't clarify your top 8. Your original post included 10 players in your top 8 (not going to rehash that), and now your follow-up post states that it's obviously either Fernandes or Garcia and either Dom/Degray, which also lacks clarity. So again, who is in your top 8? Or are you just going to say every available player has the potential to be in the top 8?

I'm not going to speculate on the top 8 because I don't know enough about the freshman, so I was honestly interested in what your top 8 were. Is that stupid?

Yes he does need to be an asshole about it. Apparently he has run out of his “hey, everyone look at me, I am going to post something ridiculous” posts.
