Things are shaping up nicely. Seems to be a ton of excitement around the program. Hopefully it translates on the court!

I'm almost positive I've heard Bamford talk about the Cage a few times in the last year or so and that the technology needed for a D1 basketball game makes it too challenging to play there. I think it may have to do with the need for instant replay, or something with the shot clock technology. I can't remember specifically, but Bamford has addressed this multiple times. Made it sound like it wasn't a choice, but a requirement that they can't implement.

I think that's the only possibility and I'm all for it. As an old guy, I saw all of my games as a student there.

Aww, jeez, I might even have to risk a return to Massachusetts for this.

I'd have to disagree that it isn't set up for D1 as we played two regular season games there in the past ten or so years. What is missing? I mean I know it's an old barn but we played D1 there for decades. Schools have done this in their old fieldhouses as well in recent years.

The holy cross game we had there under DK was awesome fun.

We need to have a special goodbye to the Cage. One last Cage game. Exhibition is fine. How about Amherst College or another sub-D1 opponent for that. Give the newbies a chance to play a game on the court Dr. J played on.

Not that I can recall. I did, however, go to the Springfield College game in 1971. I brought several friends to show off our great team and our superstar, Dr. J. They double and triple teamed Julius and if I remember correctly nobody else did much. We ended up losing by a point. I heard about it for weeks.

That was before you could dunk and the Dr. got fouled up on the shot and no foul was called so we lost by the 1 point. I was there also.

Some of the newbies parents weren't even born when Dr. J was playing on that court.....

Hello world. Boredom has set in again. I took on the often maligned and useless exercise of projecting minutes for the roster next year. I won't bore anyone with the details, but I came out with 270 minutes per game if Fernandes is eligible and 245 if he isn't. This tells me I have no idea about whose going to start, what positionless lineup we're going to have, etc. This is going to be a fun year.

I remember the court being north-south like it is today. I started going to games during the 67-68 season.

The media and tech requirements, replay, etc. the building is not wired for it. Bamford explained this.
