I'm going to assume you're speaking hypothetically, as if it was your team to run? Since McCall doesn't run an old-school offense, it would be a terrible move to add a "true PF" to a team coached by him.

So true. In fact, Samba is kind of a "true PF"

Yes, how I would construct a team. Man, you really do over-analyze everything.

Yes, I sure hope they get a freshman with some skills as a five. There is no guarantee that Tre will stay three years. It would be wise to be bringing along your next center. A 4/5 grad transfer might also help.

^^^^ That's just 1 person's opinion. He probably likes Vaughn better because he had a higher scoring average and a higher rebounding average even though he's 3 inches shorter.

As far as filling the last 2 spots, and I pray that the turnover is finished, what were our weaknesses last year and what did we lose to graduation/transfers? Purely my opinion after going to every home game and watching as many on TV as possible.

Last year's weaknesses: Secondary scoring, rebounding, interior defense
Losses to graduation/transfer: Djery, Keon, Sy, CJ, Sean, Samba

Have we addressed these weaknesses and replaced (upgraded) the players who left? I think scoring will be OK with TJ, the 2 new guards, McCrory and hopefully a return to form from Carl. Walker and Dominquez should also help.

First, we absolutely need a center or Tre will be worn out by conference play.

The second spot is harder to figure out because we really don't know what we're going to get from Walker and Dominguez at the 4. I think we need more of a banger than a stretch 4 as Walker and Dominguez can fill that role. I don't know if either is a great interior defender or rebounder.

I give it 2 weeks and we'll know. As I said in another post, I think Tony already has someone picked out.

The Stony Brook guy that just announced he's transferring would be ideal. 6'11" shot-blocker extraordinaire. I haven't seen any teams linked to him yet but I'm sure we're kicking the tires.

I think we'll end up with Mark Gasperini and Ronnie DeGray.

I hope we know something soon, very soon. I'm stressed about it as there is little to do other than follow the board with no games to watch.

What makes you think these two, Niles? Just a hunch or have you heard something. DeGray would be optimal but he held an offer from us and decided to come back for a second season. Any word on how close he was/is to the other Woodstock kids. Gotta think more players with rapport for one another would be good.

Maybe they can keep all of the players by doing what the Globetrotters do; have two teams! There , now no one has to leave, get the other guys back, and still take transfers.

Tre’s offensive game is so versatile that maybe he spells Tre for 10 and plays alongside for another 10....
