John Leonard was spectacular. Have traveled to 5 games this year and watch on the cbs all access. He is fun to watch. Some of his passes or pucks towards the net are remarkable. Find myself memorized by his play and excited to see him get the puck.

Sweep was a PWR saver. Very satisfying. PC season now on life support whereas I’m back to being cautiously optimistic about the UMass season. Now a much needed break before a home and home with UML.

UML has owned UMass, especially since Bazin came in. There is a true hatred in Lowell for the Minutemen, and that was especially evident last February at Tsongas when UML shut out UMass to complete the season sweep. The crowd was loud and hostile to UMass. Went with a UML grad who commented that it was a big let down because UMass didn’t even show up for that game. And there’s not much that can be said to dispute that. It was probably the second biggest letdown of last season IMO, surpassed only by the HE semis.

Historically, it’s baffling to me at how one sided this series has been in terms of the lopsided results. Also, this seems to be the only rivalry I can think of where the players and fans from the side that always wins are the only ones that seem to care about it.

First place in Hockey East will likely be on the line, as will positioning for the pairwise. Hell, with how crowded the standings are, home ice might even be on the line. UMass is only five points up on UNH and BU in fifth, and each has a game in hand. A zero point weekend could be disastrous. This is a huge series. These are going to be really tough games for UMass, and I want the team and fanbase to take it as seriously as they would if BC or BU were the opponent. I want them to come out as motivated as I know UML will.

I am really hoping for a good turnout from the UMass fanbase, both at Tsongas and Mullins. We’ve taken over the three Boston rinks. Time to take over Lowell. Make both games a hostile environment for the Riverhawks for once.

It is lots of fun to see the weekly rankings on USCHO/USA Today come out and see UMASS in the top ten :D . I remember doing the same for the basketball so very, very long ago :(

Count me in, where might we be sitting or gathering pre-game?

Which means that we will be tied for first, at worst, heading into our home and home with Lowell.

I’m sitting in 106 10th row. Lowell Beerworks is a five minute walk from the rink. That’s probably where I’ll be in advance with cousin who went to UML.

Also, it’s possible that BC will be alone in first by faceoff. They’re two points back with a game tonight and a game Thursday.

^ You got bingo. I didn't know about the Thursday game.

And their game is already over - a win - so now they are tied with us with a game in hand.

UML was swept this weekend, bringing them down to 15 in the pairwise. Friday and Saturday are now basically must win for them if they want a shot at an at large bid. I hope the Minutemen are ready.

Bad loss tonight against a Lowell team we simply can’t beat. Totally dominated the game, yet lose on 3 shit goals. Tomorrow night is a must win.
