I guess LIU Brooklyn now goes by Long Island and also changed their team colors.
Re: Derek Kellogg - LIU Brooklyn
I believe there are 3 separate LIU campuses.inthescoop wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:37 pm I guess LIU Brooklyn now goes by Long Island and also changed their team colors.
Refuse To Lose!!!
Re: Derek Kellogg - LIU Brooklyn
The campuses effectively merged. LIU is one brand for all campuses. One D1 team but basketball is played at Brooklyn while football is played at Post (for example).

LIU's defense was a bit lacking tonight. Lutete is good, but not THIS good:

Guard Christian Lutete went off for 51 points and 9 rebounds to lead UMass Lowell to an 87-74 win at LIU Brooklyn tonight. Lutete was 16-for-25 from the floor, 7-for-12 from deep and 12-for-13 from the line. One of the most underrated players in the nation.

I guess holding them to 64 says something about us.. let's see if we can back that up today.

And they are now the Sharks instead of Blackbirds.inthescoop wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:37 pm I guess LIU Brooklyn now goes by Long Island and also changed their team colors.

Ty Flowers is averaging 16.3 ppg, 14.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, and 3.5 bpg through 4 games. He put up 20, 17, and 7 last night to go along with 3 blocks in LIU's first win.
I wish DK and the rest of the former UMass players the best. I'm glad to see Tyrnn doing so well. The record over DKs last few years did not reflect the talent level he was able to bring to campus. I feel the main difference from MM is DK would seem to bend over and acquiesce to the kids to get them here, and once they came he didn't get the level of commitment and dedication from them that is required from a winning program. When DK had success with Chaz and co, those guys didn't need much extra motivation. Chaz is a born winner and tried his hardest out there on a nightly basis, and he demanded that from his teammates too.
The difference between this years team and every team since Chaz left is apparent to anyone who watches. This current team wants to win and is willing to put in the necessary work.

All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
