I have to say, I find that very sad. He had the one phenomenal year hear. We know that he came from a very rough background and lost friends to violence. I really worry about him in the future and where he will go from here.

To be fair he has scored 21, 5, 13, 14, 16 in the 5 games prior while shooting a very solid percentage....he was also on a 28 straight FT streak....so his play has picked up considerably of late.

I think Pip values the opportunity he's given himself to get a degree through basketball. He seems like a smart kid and he's obviously a hard worker. It didn't work out for him in the end at UMass, but I think he's going to be a successful guy. I wouldn't envision him ending up in his old neighborhood getting into trouble.

One could argue that it did work out for him at UMass. He is a University of Massachusetts graduate, and that in and of itself is a great thing considering all he went through.

Thanks for the bigger context. I'm glad to hear that his game has picked up of late and it was just one bad night.

Well said. I guess I would rephrase that the relationship between him and the school didn't end on the greatest of terms. Maybe as more time passes, that relationship will mend.

He definitely had a good FT streak, but 10 of his season total came in 1 game. He’s also managed to break 20 points once, averages less than 10 a game, and is shooting 33% on the season. Dude absolutely polluted the team last season and blamed the staff on the way out. Now he appears to be sharing his awful shooting and special brand of joy in Providence.

You are not allowed to speak of these things .... haven't you read the praises of him above?

Bigger context is key. It's lost on most people.

Not to make it seem like I'm sitting on the fence, but I believe both sides can be correct. What IV said about the bigger picture and putting his time at Umass into context makes a lot of sense. Considering the alternative and where he was coming from, getting a degree from Umass is a fantastic accomplishment and kudos to him. It's also becoming more and more clear that he was an issue on the court and in the locker room last year. And like someone said, if he didn't do that podcast the perception about him is still mostly positive. He just aired out his motives and the teams dirty laundry a bit on the way out. I'll never root for a former player to fail, but where there is smoke there is fire I guess.

He had no want or desire to play under Coach McCall or with the guys that McCall brought in. He handled it poorly and he's not here anymore. It's more than ok to critique him for that while also wishing him well in his current and future endeavors.

Maybe I shouldn't update anymore on Pipkins stats. It seems to bring up some strong feelings.

What about Inus Norville? Is he still playing at Wright State?
