The roster on the athletic website lists three freshman quarterbacks-Pallotta, Dzuro, and McMenamin.
Are they still with the team? Did they not play because Bell didn't want to waste a year of eligibility with
bad team, or was the talent not there?

New (starting last year) rules allow guys to play in 4 games yet not lose a year of eligibility so, nope, that's not the reason why. Plus Palotta already redshirted last year. Bell's stubbornness and/or inability to recognize talent is the only excuse

Legitimate good news from the program. Brings the season total up to two. 3 if you count the first quarter lead against Rutgers.

That's very good news! Now they just need to start winning games!

Good news, even if it is only a secondary bowl affiliation - meaning we would need at least one of the conference affiliations to not be met. Better than nothing and hopefully they can find a home by the time this agreement runs out in 2025!

632 points allowed shatters the record. A colossal embarrassment.

Glad the season is over as well as it was painful to watch. Next year will be better. I guarantee two wins (Albany and Troy) and two other close games (at Akron and NMex st). I will be happy with 3 wins and good recruiting class this year and another next year.

Troy, will kill UMass next year and Albany is also a loss. Maybe a competitive game against Akron at Akron, and NMSU is a toss up. I see 0 - 12 as a distinct possibility. Bell will most likely keep playing his boy Brito, because, you know, he has a year playing under his belt...This off-season should be very interesting. I wouldn't be surprised to see many players leaving the program.

The team was terrible from the start and if Brito and West had played they would have lost to Akron. There are a lot of donors and football alumni who won't put up with this embarrassment...Too bad Bell will make a lot money for ruining a proud program. It is what it is...

If Brito is the starting QB next season will be another disaster.

I will bet you any amount of money we lose to Troy next year.

Next year could possibly be worse. Albany & Troy are losses. If Brito starts the UConn game, we lose that one and maybe only beat Akron.

I hate to say this guys: if the BYU game was indicative of anything, Bell does not coach to win. 4th and 4 & we're down by 39 at end of 3rd quarter and he punts tells me that he is not a HC. I don't know if UMass football can survive numerous 1-11 seasons. Let's keep fingers crossed that somehow we can win a game or two. Even Akron has been to a bowl game or two and won one of them with Terry Bowden. Would love to get a HC like Terry Bowden (had a great run at Auburn)

This quote is a head scratcher. It’s not like Bell took over for Brown and drove the team into the ground. The team has been bad for quite some time. A few of Whipple’s seasons could be called mediocre I guess, but for the most part there hasn’t been much to be proud of since Coen was quarterback.

Scratch your head all you like - The fact is that Whipple had the program making incremental progress. this was apparently insufficient and the decision was made to hire Bell to improve the program and thus far that decision appears to have been a colossal mistake. But by all means feel free to go cheer on Bell's invincible Hurry Up No Huddle scheme
