Scholarship limits below limit colleges who would go to FBS for both financial and Title nine reasons.

85 (FBS)
63.0 (FCS)

Most of Northeast universities in FCS are facing serious $ issues as the supply of entering 18-19 year olds is dropping rapidly. You can forget Maine, UNH and URI. And for reasons of size, academic focus, and tradition, eliminate the Ivies and Patriot league teams as well.

Maybe Albany?

List of FCS schools is here:

JMU and Delaware seem most FBS ready in the CAA from at least from a facilities standpoint. Not exactly New England, but BosWash schools are still a regional affiliation that makes sense.

That would be excellent! I have an idea: We could call it Yankee Conference Redux! Maybe BU and Vermont and Northeastern would come back. Shades of the start of YanCon 1 in 1947. :)

^ Don’t forget the Huskies from Storrs. YanCon 2 could have two Huskies much like the A-10 has three Rams.

Everyone, I have the solution. I've been saying it for years. Make Hockey East an All Sports Conference. Still call the conference Hockey East. Force the FCS Hockey East Schools to be FBS

Hockey East Football Conference (FBS)
UMass
UConn
Boston College
Maine
UNH
Merrimack
Holy Cross (women's Hockey East member)

Extend an invite to Syracuse, too. They have women's hockey. It is required that each member of Hockey East All Sports Conference participate in either Men's or Women's Hockey. That would put the conference on solid footing with 8 members.

 :D 8)
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Leave the A-10!

The CBS announcers were ripping Bell's coaching, or lack their of. He is clueless! A high school coach could do a better job!

He's not getting fired this year, and I know he doesn't have the bodies or talent, but I am not seeing anything that says to me that Walt Bell is going to be a good head coach. There have to be at least a few things he can do to halt the same embarrassing results each week. Anyone know the deal with Curtis and Fallon? Were they in uniform today?

The announcers said that after last weeks game Bell only had 40 scholarship players. If that is so then it is no wonder we can't win games. Seeing that you can only add 25 scholarship players a year then we have a long way to go to get the 87 scholarship players we are allowed.

Healthy 40 players per Bell, the others are injured. They still have most of the starters on offense playing. All teams have injuries this time of year. Army is missing a lot of their starters on defense.

He still has a redshirt year to burn so that might be why he's missing. He is still listed on the roster.

Dude, he gone. Bell sent him into purgatory and the next time you see him will be in Sundays. Just like Whipple did with Elijah Wilkinson.

Why would you do that? If he's that good, he'd help, no?

I wouldn't, that's the point. Bell chased him off, not me.
