Thought this needed to be brought to the top. Coach Bell and his assistants have been killing it on the recruiting trail with 12 verbals in hand. This is way ahead of where the Minutemen usually sit at this time of the year. These guys are extremely savvy on the use of social media.

An unsolicited plug for Fight Massachusetts on 247 Sports if you want to stay on top of recruiting (football and basketball). Here's a link to the site's commitment page. Check them out. https://247sports.com/college/massachus ... l/Commits/

^^^+1

Compared to the past few years, the number of early commitments has been very encouraging.

I haven't seen much talk here about UMass' recruitment of Alexander Honig. He's got to be the biggest name of all the recruits right now.

Great to see UMass pick up a key commit in DE Hugo Klages a top German prospect through the Brandon Collier PPI pipeline - 3 star recruit who promises to have huge upside at a position of need for UMass. Welcome to the UMass Football Family Hugo !!!

4* CB recruit transfers from Notre Dame to UMass. This is not a typo. Details here from 247 Sports https://247sports.com/college/massachus ... 133944729/

^^^WOW! Huge get. I guess the recruiting prowess of Bell et al is real. Hope this inspires other 4* recruits to sign up.

I just saw this and was about to post. I'm guessing this is one of the few 4* players the program has landed.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

This is the AAR effect. He was originally committed to MD and AAR in 2017 before flipping to ND. AAR knows everyone in the DMV.

We have 15 commits already for 2020 plus the transfer from Notre Dame. I just saw this new commit, Josh Atwood. He adds some much needed size to the D line. I hope he's good!

Saw Brady Martin play this past weekend. On the positive side I can see why he was recruited. Athletic with a very strong arm. His ability stands out among the other high school players. The LA program listed him at 6-0. Definitely not. He looks more like 5-10, 5-11 pushing it a little. Did not really have a good game threw 2 picks. Kind of a gun slinger type. The guys who are in love with their arm so they try to make ill-advised throws. Perhaps with some discipline could blossom in a couple of years.

You are good if you can tell 6.0 from 5'11 from the sideline

Stood next to him couple of times and I'm quite familiar with my own height. Whats with the attitude?

Another verbal per the FB blog. A JC player. We have verbals from several JC players so they should be more experienced than high school players and be ready to step right in next season.

Why does it seem so perfect that Lawrence Academy has forfeited the final game of QB recruit Brady Martin’s career? Feel badly for the kid who misses out on senior day after a great career there.
