Not too hard to get excited about that group. Love the effort right to the end. Definiely some talent on this team and looks like it will be a good group.

That's the best the press has looked in I couldn't tell you how long.. it wasn't perfect, and some better teams will beat it, but guys looked like they knew where to be.

That was a lot of fun to watch! So many good points starting with TJ he just has the look of a gunner that will light it up for (hopefully) 4 years. That's a lot of firepower with Carl and TJ on the court together. Solid play from Tre and Djery looked very good defensively.

This has the look of a team, coaching and style that should start to bring the fans back out and some sizzle back to UMass basketball.

Signed up for my ESPN+ I'll be watching!

was not a blocking call, but a flop warning, which is a new rule this year. The warning goes to the entire team, so it seems like a delay making the call when actually it's just making sure the word gets passed around to the entire team because if it happened a second time it would be a technical.

Yea but watching the replay that was a horrible call. Not a flop at all, he took contact and actually came away limping. If I'm coach I'm telling him to keep playing that way and make the refs make better calls.

Funny stat.. Umass with 18 assists to 10 turnovers.. Lowell with 10 assists and 18 turnovers. I feel like they could have called at least 2 or 3 more charges on Lowell

only one game but seemed like Clergot might be odd man out in this rotation...just doesn't see to fit the style they are looking to play. He's a little too out of control...all seven freshman looked better than he did. I love his energy, poor mans Marcus Smart, but just not sure he fits. I also kinda worry if he'll become a distraction if he's not playing...he's very emotional and might be a cancer in the locker room if he's not playing.

First view of the team this year, pleasantly surprised. Couple things stood out:
- TJ is exactly what this team needs, another pure shooter to compliment Carl. Smart player that gets after it on D as well
- Tre Mitchell is a pretty well rounded kid for a freshman. Composed, great hands and footwork, and aware of the game around him. Kid is a basketball player with a good game IQ
- Samba coming out. Saw glimpses of his explosiveness and athletic ability. I expect him to really step up this season. Can do alot of things
- Impressed with Sean East. Looks confident with the ball and can find the open man. Ability to score as well. Kolton also provided some solid backup minutes and plays tough, hardnosed D. Good, young, combination of pg's to build with
- Carl can still shoot it, no doubt. He and TJ can really light it up when hot

Overall, thought the effort was very good. I realize its ULowell, but for a first game with lots of new guys, I thought it was good. Good balance, intensity, and they played team ball. Not a lot of lapses and pretty solid effort all around

Add Sy into the mix, and hopefully Dibaji, and we could surprise some people this year.
Time to Win
